There is a real energy crisis in Europe that was created by a combination of political missteps, climate change fear-mongering and a woke energy policy that could leave much of Europe and Asia undersupplied as they head into winter.
It is also a foreshadowing of what may happen in the U.S.
Oil topped the $75 per barrel level this week, the highest since October of 2018. Instead of learning from the mistakes that Europe made, we instead want to copy their failures and put our economy and people's lives at risk. The Biden administration had better heed the warning signs and call on the U.S. energy industry to try to raise production ahead of what could be one of the most expensive winters that we've seen in years. If not, they risk destroying the U.S. economy and leaving poor people out in the cold

I want one that heats the house AND can cook stuff on top.
I just remember sleeping in that house in the dead of January, and it was HOT in that bedroom!
Now I live with ‘central heat and air conditioning’; and it makes me long even for the days when I grew up with radiators. I was never cold then, either.
“I’m skinny and have zero insulation.”
Wish I could say the same about us, so I’d better just say, ‘No Comment!’ LOL! :)
I guess I should clarify that we have a southern exposure in the Family Room, and the south side is nothing but a large bank of windows. On a sunny Winter day, it’s WAY more than 62 degrees in there.
Also, I have been known to set the oven to, ‘warm’ and crack the door open. The kitchen is MY domain and I spend a crazy-amount of time in there between cooking, baking, laundry, preserving and sitting at the kitchen counter crocheting and watching cooking shows or true crime dramas. The kitchen/pantry/laundry was an add-on to ‘This Old House’ and there is just a crawl space below in desperate need of more insulation.
But, that’s a job for a ‘skinny guy’...and they are hard to find up here on The Frozen Tundra. ;)
Decades of experience, earned the hard way ;)
I've also got a Grandpa Bear sitting in my shop and we have a small high efficient, air tight stove that I'd been swapping out for the Papa Bear in the Spring and Fall but that's kinda of a pain even though it puts out a lot of heat from a little bit of dry wood. Uninstalling and reinstalling wood stoves twice a year is a pain. If we had more room, I'd have the little air tight sitting next to the Papa Bear and just alternate between them.
Would something like a clay casserole (a Romertopf) or even one of those Coleman camp ovens work on top of there?
Anyway, just make sure you always heat the pots or pans with food in them. Don;t overheat. Always cool slowly. I have cracked a few but I buy more at the flea market.
“bat gas”
How many bats per cubic foot?
I’m thinking cast iron is probably best - even though it’s difficult to care for.
Yeah. But that stuff tends to wear off if you don’t treat it carefully. (Experience, here - I ruined my husband’s wonderful enameled cast iron pot almost as soon as he’d gotten it...)
I can’t handle the iron taste when food is cooked in cast iron.....so is that enamel inside or out? From one who isn’t well versed with kitchen gadgets.
What the hell are they talking about? and why are they denigrating Europe’s quest to GO GREEN?
It’s the regime. How else can a “shortage” happen in less than a year?
Remember, when Trump was in office, we had so much surplus oil/gas we were going to sell it, overseas?
Good memories.
Enamel is on the inside.
I still use the 45 year old Le Creuset pots/pans that I inherited.
Never heard of them.....so they could actually go in the oven too! My BIL makes a mean pizza in the oven with cast iron skillet. Like me he has a few dishes he’s good at, and they are outstanding!
The Old Farmer’s Almanac, said the upcoming winter will be historic for its deeply cold temperatures.
* “This coming winter could well be one of the longest and coldest that we’ve seen in years,”
This winter will be punctuated by positively bone-chilling, below-average temperatures across most of the United States
wonderful heat of all electric heaters out there....and I saved money too.
Steady even heat day and night
No brain dead Democrat voters will accept what ever lie their party masters tell them. It will not be their fault, it is all the fault of hoarders and “bad actors”
Democrat voters are too brain dead to ever link their own party to the misery they live in. It is always someone else’s fault
Years ago when raising kids we had a wood stove I absolutely loved. Heated the entire house. But I rent now and landlords don’t like the idea of wood stoves ....closest I could get are oil filled radiator heaters that give off a sustained heat day and night and much cheaper to run than baseboard heat....
