s: JURY HAS REACHED VERDICT IN FORMER MINNEAPOLIS POLICEMAN DEREK CHAUVIN'S MURDER TRIAL -COURT
Have you ever watched cops? I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone say “Yes officer, that’s my dope”
Instead, it’s “Not mine. I don’t know how it fell in my pocket.”
Criminals lie all the time. I can’t breathe is a common one.
Do I think Chauvin is pure and clean? No. Guilty of murder or manslaughter? No.
How quick did Freddie Gray jury come back? That was a shocker.
I agree but the defense has some new weapons (Waters and Biden).
Who in their right mind would serve on this jury?
“I was once on a jury that acquitted in 15 minutes.”
Sounds like just about the same here. Those jurors prefer the rioting take place not where they live.
I meant to say 2nd degree manslaughter, which is the same as negligent homicide in other states.
Doubt it. The judge would order them to try a little while longer unless its overwhelming one way or the other and the minority verdict is dug in on idealogical grounds.
As is the nearest barnes and noble
Is Footlocker boarded up...or do the terrorists need to break thru to get their free stuff?
Axin’ for a friend...who dindu nuffin.
Guilty or innocent BLM will loot and burn.
It’s not about Justice for these Thugs.
It’s about “Homie wants a big screen TV”.
Verdict is just the excuse to steal it.
“I just don’t see a overturn on appeal given the mop influence on America. They need to win in front of the jury, I think.”
I suppose there is the slim possibility that the Chauvin jury voted to acquit quickly and spent the rest of the deliberation time working on a collective statement to make to the press about it.
I sure as hell wouldn’t..
no one in their right mind would.
thats why they will find guilty or hung (most likely guilty)
If that were the case, they would simply instruct the bailiff that they wanted to speak with the judge, which does happen in some jury deliberations, either for questions or to have the court record read back (juries generally can’t read the court transcript for themselves, weirdly). That’s not what is happening. Instead, they’ve instructed the bailiff that they’ve reached a verdict. It’s a verdict.
Good parenting books sit in the sale bin untouched.
He didn’t kill Floyd. In the original ME’s report, the one Baker issued before the politicians got ahold of him, there was zero trauma or injury to Floyd’s neck, trachea or any other organ that would effect his breathing. Floyd requested to be removed from the Patrol car and placed on the ground, Chauvin didn’t put him there. He had 90% blockage of the Coronary Artery along with an enlarged heart and a lethal dose of Fentanyl and Methamphetamine in his system. Once again, this technique is used thousands of times a year, by PDs all over the country and suspects don’t die. Floyd’s drug use combined with his severe cardiac disease killed Floyd.
Makes me wonder if you could ask for a 50% discount now with note to store that it will likely get looted by someone else for free later today...
GUILTY?! We was right!
Innocent?! You are wrong.
Let’s barbecue.
We’ve got word in our newsroom guilty on 2nd degree homicide and other charges.
One of the jurors said she got registered to vote just so she’d be eligible to be on this jury. Why was she even accepted?
Actually no. Department training and policy is to stay away from the neck whenever possible (there's no mechanical advantage to being on the neck versus the upper back) and to get a suspect seated in an upright position as soon as they are handcuffed. The reason for this is that there are numerous medical conditions that can become life-threatening when left prone with the hands restrained for long periods.
You should check out the testimony of Minneapolis Police Lt. Johnny Mercil, the use-of-force coordinator for the department. Further, you should talk with some actual use-of-force trainers. They'll tell you exactly what I'm telling you.
Keep in mind, I'm not saying Chauvin is a bad guy or that he deserves all this. I'm saying that the training is to stay off the neck and get your subject upright ASAP once restrained in order to minimize health risks. And the training is such for good reason. The problem for Chauvin is that it wouldn't matter whether he was going by the book here or not because too many are out for blood. Thankfully, he's got more reasons for appeal than just about anyone, and I'm sure that whatever happens today will have some adjustment going forward once the mob has lost interest.
