The Prince had a good Clinton joke that showed up on one of the threads. I will say this for Clinton—unlike many of those the Dems have nominated since, I suspect he would get a good chuckle out of the joke made at his expense.

I liked the first Philip too. And one of my very favorites in the first 2 seasons was Tommy Lascelles, the Private Secretary. He was exceptional.
I struggled through Season 3 with the new cast... it was like watching a totally different show, and I kept wishing things hadn’t been changed, just did not enjoy the show nearly as much. So I haven’t even bothered to watch Season 4 yet. Maybe I will at some point.

I recommend you watch 4. I struggled vtoo but the story is worth it. The only false note was the treatment of thatcher.
I will watch it for the story as you said. It’s too bad they don’t stay strictly with the facts, and we have to read up on what’s true and not true. One of the main appeals for me is the history of it all, so I would prefer just the truth.

The Queen and her husband are by no means racist - not by today’s standards and definitely not by the standards of their generation.
He made naughty comments, but he did not prejudice against someone for their ethnicity.
He was a German blood prince of Greece and Denmark who married the future Queen of the UK. He knew better than to be racist
