A usually reliable source informs me that the Walmarts in the area are doing land office business. Something like 50% more than normal, with one store having over double expected.
I don't know of any specific news that would drive this, perhaps the smelly Walmart shoppers are prepping for a long Dark Winter?
“Why would the beginning of a tsunami not be news?”
ROTFLMAO!
1. When it is a rumor
2. When it is a vanity
“Rumor has it: a run on Walmart (vanity)”
You got to order something to start a tab.
Obvious reason..
Many restaurants are closed and so people buying more food.
Used to be The store.
Ammo,
Milk and Marlboro.
This country is starting to resemble that movie.
Lying? Not really, just lost in time, as usual. The Sooners were in 1889, and ‘land office business’ gained currency in the 1820s.
But I do agree that this week will be epic.
Looks like I might need to buy a few racks of kitty food. Lest there be cat revolt.
Boycotting is hard. I really made miss Greg Gutfeld and Tucker.
Me too.
Internet prognosticators are advising people to stock up ahead of the “big things about to happen.”
I went to our Freddies but didn't find much on sale that I need...I only buy when things are on sale for the most part...I bought another gallon of milk...now we have 4 in our fridge...several pks of FM brand stew seasoning....one package of TP only because I feel guilty not buying some...
I happened to drive by the Sparks Costco today. It was very busy based upon cars in the lot. I wonder if they are limiting traffic inside that seems to inflate the traffic due to entry delay(s).
Walmart has given in to PC pressure here and there but is not nearly as reprobate and evil as some of the other global corporations in some important ways. Besides, nearly all stores sell mostly things made in China. And Walmart sells some things made in the U.S.A. and a few friendly countries.
Something else that many haven’t quite seen. One of the main reasons for fewer firearms and less ammo there is the security problem. So many shoplifters, robbers and burglars have hit those places, and too many locals here and there blamed Walmart for attracting...well, characters like so many of us. ;)
If you want to compete with Wally World, be better. I know of a few other stores that treat customers really well and enjoy shopping in those places, too. But you know, many of those places aren’t as attractive to hoods and the like. They can’t blend in so much in smaller places with fewer customers in them.
Everybody stocked up on TP? ;D
On the topic at hand, the nearest Walmart is normally much busier than most others, but it’s been a little slow lately. Probably because it’s middle of winter. The comment about TP was a joke. There’s plenty of it at that Walmart along with everything else.
We do have a tendency to do that occasionally don’t we.
This IS the best place to get some decent mental exercise after all.
Just what damn holiday is it?
Am I the only person here who doesn’t know, and really doesn’t give a sh!t?
