Rumor has it: a run on Walmart (vanity)
An insider, private communication | 1/16/21 | nully

Posted on 01/16/2021 6:26:48 PM PST by null and void

A usually reliable source informs me that the Walmarts in the area are doing land office business. Something like 50% more than normal, with one store having over double expected.

I don't know of any specific news that would drive this, perhaps the smelly Walmart shoppers are prepping for a long Dark Winter?

"You can find real butter but the non-dairy stuff is going fast."

I usually buy Great Value salted stick butter (4 quarters). When I was there this past Tuesday, they had none. All they had was their unsalted product, so I ended up buying a different brand. I like Eggland white eggs. They had none. If I want to find the items I need, I have to go to either Top's or Price Chopper near me, or drive a half-hour to the other Walmart. The Walmart here is terrible, and has been terrible for at least the past three years. They can't blame it on the virus.

The two Wal Marts in our area have been sparse for over a week, at least on the food side. NO cat litter and that’s primarily what I buy there. With 32 cats, we save money where we can.

Other stores seem to be well-stocked so I figure there must be a problem with Wal Mart getting stock from their warehouses to their stores. The stores don’t seem to be any busier than usual.

Facts are hard to ascertain nowadays with all the fake news and disinformation. Carefully researched speculation:

President Trump will invoke the Insurrection Act on Monday or Tuesday and declare martial law in some areas. He will be using the Emergency Broadcast Network to communicate to the American people.

Electrical power and phone communications may be shut down for a period of time as the bad guys are rounded up and arrested.

People need to stock up on food and essentials as there may be power cut offs, travel restrictions and curfews, especially in the larger cities.

Leftist rioters will be looting, burning and destroying parts of cities to protest that Biden won't be president and Trump will.

My educated guess as to why people are panic buying.

Oh my God, just stop! It was one of our “elite betters” that referred to Walmart shoppers as smelly, not the poster! Look it up and quit bashing that comment!
