A usually reliable source informs me that the Walmarts in the area are doing land office business. Something like 50% more than normal, with one store having over double expected.
I don't know of any specific news that would drive this, perhaps the smelly Walmart shoppers are prepping for a long Dark Winter?

Did note there seemed less than usual in some areas today. Dunno if it’s just a stocking issue, or a run. OJ, fish, eggs pretty much gone. And of course ammo was completely out (but for a couple boxes of .25-30, 18ga, & 28 ga).

Walmart.com has been having some difficulties keeping some foods in stock (especially, it seems, some of the things that can keep a long time....this leads us to think that maybe people are stocking up for a bad year under the new regime)

I was at Walmart today looking for lantern mantles, which of course they didn’t have.
Looked pretty normal.
Loaded up on gasoline and propane today.

My local Walmart seems well-stocked. Yesterday, it even had disinfectant spray stocked for the first time in months.

I already did my prepping.

I actually found canning jars at one recently..
Disinfectants tend to be iffy around here. Just hit or miss and keep checking.

You know that all the Washington insiders have been buying Walmart stock like crazy along with Procter & Gamble, Kimberly Clark, Clorox, anything to do with the pandemic because they’re getting ready for the next phase.

Fred Meyer in Tillamook was busy. Searched everywhere for raspberry filled donuts, couldn’t find. Finally found where they should be. But they were gone! Plenty of others but. I was ready to cry, got on my knees and... found a box tucked way back on shelf.

No, it won’t. Stock market is closed Monday for MLK Day.
What? You’re not sending cards this year?

LOL. When Wally World’s smelly patrons develop a puzzled look on their faces and start sniffing around for the source of the floating stench that they can’t seem to avoid, that’s when I know it’s time to take a shower.

Perhaps you could pull on the other leg for a while. I’m getting pretty tired of running around in circles...
