What does this mean “respond to”??
There ia nothing for them to say. The election and voter fraud was obvious. Anything those states say will be insulting the intelligence of the Supreme Court Justices.
If they refuse this one, the coming implosion of the Republic will be solely due to their refusal to uphold the Constitution while tacitly approving tyranny, history will look very poorly on them ....
I think if this fails the next step is to say,”If one part of the constitution is voided then the whole document is void. Therefore, we are no longer part of this association of states.
I could be wrong, but appears to be where this is going.

What can these states, led by RINOs or Dims, employing corrupt morons for secretaries of state and ballot workers, say to the SC when the massive amount of evidence piling up is presented? “Hummidda, hummidda, hummidda,” comes to mind.
Not an expert on this but my gut is telling me this allows for SCOTUS to have a big impact with very little election interference as they see it.
They can affirm the unconstitutionality of the election in these states and leave it to these same states to provide a constitutionally consistent slate of electors or none at all.
They would need only to rule once and then all other suits could done at a later date.

This lawsuit is based on violations of the Eual Protection Clause. The issue of standing will arise. Not mentioned in the complaint is the Guarantee Clause, also known as, the Republican Form of Government Clause, Article IV, Section 4:
The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic Violence.
Do note that that clause makes no limitation to a specific branch of government, meaning each branch has a responsibility to enforce it if a republican form of government is not present. Some of the lawsuits filed in the lower courts made reference to this clause, which was ignored. Personally, I think it is a better argument than the Equal Protection Clause argument for states to have standing to challenge the electors of another state.
