What does this mean “respond to”??
The states must justify why their unconstitutional cheat-by-mail-in ballots that were not passed through their respective legislatures did not disenfranchise the states like Texas, et al. where voters did everything according to the Constitution.
They respond and SCOTUS throws it out without comment.
“What does this mean “respond to”??”
They file their response to Texas’ suit with the court.
Texas has not filed a lawsuit before the Supreme Court; they are not allowed to, under Supreme Court rules. What they filed is a motion asking for permission to file a lawsuit. The Court has set a deadline for the defendant states to respond to that motion.
The states need to submit their responses (briefs) ala PA did today basically stating, “yes we cheated and we cheated so big there’s nothing that can be done about it. suck rocks”
I think they either admit to voter fraud or answer “present”.
Or continue lying.
Pay off Roberts
When one files a lawsuit (complaint) the other side must file an answer indicating they wholly disagree with the complaint or agree with parts (and which parts) and disagree with others. This usually helps courts narrow in on issues of contention.
