Could be

The TP aisle at my local WM is stripped again - some times, there’s nothing there at all. Except empty shelves.

It will still somewhat normal, 4-6 weeks ago.

He wouldn’t have 270 EV so he couldn’t win.

Applause! I think the docket reading is being done by inexperienced legal readers. For instance, I don’t think this latest twitter news flash means the Supremes actually said “Alright, Pensylvania, ya morons, you have to respond by the 10th.”

What I think it actually means is Texas wanted the Supremes to know that they asked PA to respond to the motion and said “Hey Pensy, we’re gonna want your response to this by Thursday, because the Big Guys are gonna want to know how you’ll respond. We mean, heck, you could be so tired of being the laughingstock, scourge of the US that you just *might* say “Hey, America, we’re sorry. We are going to invalidate all our electors, sit out the elction, and spend the next 4 years cleaning up our mess!”

Yes: even if they agree with the various plaintiffs, the big question is, What is the remedy?

I doubt they are prepared to reset the election themselves, so they might very well decide to kick it back to the state houses.

Or, if they've broken into the Red Bull, they could say that there is sufficient evidence of illegalities and fraud in the conduct of the elections, all designed to benefit one party, and therefore order the count as of midnight on election day to be the determining count. Hard to say.

Remember too that Alito's order to PA was ignored, and Thomas an Kavanaugh have good reasons to bear a grudge against the Democrats.

In short, states’ rights(?)

3 votes down? try 4, do not count on the Dread Traitor Roberts to do anything resembling the correct thing.

Didn’t PA also say they were afraid of violence if they agreed with Alito?

That’s the lone PA case, right?

You said it. I figure the US Supreme Court will void the certifications and tell the States redo the elections before December 14, 2020 without changing election laws that were approved by the state legislatures. If the states can’t, the Supreme Court could give them the option for the state legislature to choose the electors themselves or forfeit the votes in the electoral college.

If SCOTUS throw out the electors from those states, then neither candidate gets to 270 and the outcome goes to the House to select the President. In that scenario, each state gets 1 vote (regardless of the number of congress members from each state). Since Republicans hold a majority of state delegations, it is likely Trump would win.

I am of the opinion that the Justices declined to here the Pennsylvania case because the Texas case will resolve the issue of who won the Presidency without have to address the massive fraud.

All they have to do is rule that invalid votes must be rejected because they weren’t submitted in compliance with the law and/or send it to the state legislatures to decide. Either way, Trump wins.

I also think the Democrat threat to pack the Court is on the minds of at least the six Justices who agreed to hear the case. They like their little club the way it is.

The SCOTUS will not slit its own throat. They will not destroy themselves.

Well, three of them are looking for rubber-and-bondage hook-ups, but I expect that at least five of the others would not look forward to enduring that for the rest of their lives.

Roberts’ “job”, at this point, is going to be to side with the majority, so that he can write watered-down decisions.
