A large batch of mail, including several mailed-in ballots, were discovered in a ditch along a Wisconsin road on Tuesday.
Fox 11 reported the Outagamie County Sheriffs Office said three trays were found in a ditch early in the morning.
The mail was found near the intersection of highways 96 and CB, near the Appleton International Airport and was turned over to the postal service.
The United States Postal Inspection Service immediately began investigating and we reserve further comment on this matter until that is complete, spokesman Bob Sheehan told the news station.
The postal service did not disclose how many ballots were included in the trays.

Call in the Signed, Sealed, Delivered crew from Hallmark series. They serve on the cold letter bureau.
Delightful show, but the USPS does not go to great means to get a letter to where it should be. As I said, fun thing to make a TV series about, real life is much more sinister.
And if you’re thinking of tracking a package through the USPS mail tracking, it’s efficiency is abysmal . When an Amazon vendor turns a package over to them, that means add another 10 days to the expected delivery date.
Saw today on Fox news majority of votes mailing/absentee are Democrats by big percentages.
there were no old labels nor bar codes. Completely unused priority express box.
Again, government employees get their reputation of being bottom of the barrel honestly.
This is what we will be dealing with, in every state, after November 3.
“UPS is expensive and destroys things”
But as a courtesy, at no extra charge...
Imagine the MILLIONS of BALLOTS that will be FOUND or DISCOVERED a week or two AFTER the election.
Clearly, this act of domestic terrorism, on a par with police violence, was perpetrated by white supremacist extremist cisgendered colonial fascists. /s So, when do I get my network show?
You can't expect lazy parasites to think of using a machine.
oh, yes. It IS a crime. Whether misdemeanor, felony, or merely a “violation of the USPS reg’s doesn’t really matter.
The USPS union members “might” investigate, but they don’t really care. And, even IF investigated, and IF the guilty USPS employee can be identified, and IF that USPS employee is arrested, charged, and even jailed ... So what? There aer 25,000 BLM-Antifa-democrat voters (er, rioters) arrested in the northwest, and a demcorat DA let them all go.
Once knew a guy I worked with who was fired from the Post office for not delivering mail. He told me he took the mail home as he could not be bothered to deliver them and wanted to go fo a drink.
The same Post Office union which endorses the dementia team are to deliver our mail, yea right and I am supposed to trust these people.
Most of us have received a US Postal Service card telling us "mail in ballots usually called absentee ballots" can be requested.
And several Dem candidate ones saying to use the mail-in style this year.
And my state of Michigan with a Sec. of State card "You have the right to vote safely from home...." (Not like the meanie Right Wing Conspiracy nut jobs who think the ballots will be lost or destroyed and replaced by Soros employee filled in ones created two to four days after election day ended.)
Will the ballot destruction stories be so suppressed people will believe the phony Biden victory results the week after the election? We have to get these stories out. Paid ads if needed.
Shredding ballots....
Now that is an excellent point I have never seen so far.
Practice for the real thing. This election will look like Floriduh 2000.
Postal workers caught from time to time....

Probably 2 weeks ago we had such a story. And yes, the stupidly threw the large amount of mail in the vacant lot not far from the back of the Post Office. Dumb. The employee wanted to keep up with the work quota and was too far behind so tossed mail to catch up. Most destroy the mail but not always.
In one of the similar stories a few months ago on FR, I said “My buddy assures me the $50 he owes me was in that destroyed pile.”
A caller on a talk show said contractors do a lot of sorting and other things and are not definitely supervised well. They vary in quality and honesty depending on the area.
Another asked who is watching the postage meter contractors' people who are paid to print a postmark on thousands of pieces of mail? They can simply put a counterfeit early date before Nov. 3rd but really are handling ballots filled out days after the election. That is a problem I haven't seen discussed. Someone should make sure ballots without a top postmark are not allowed to be sorted past that point.
But, boss. The shredding machine got jammed, and Sidney’s the only one allowed to fix it under union rules.
Union rules, shmoonion rules. You lift up the top and remove the jammed paper, knucklehead! Sidney’s out sick, so you gotta improvise.
In the days after the election, we need to do a three for one: for every box of democrat ballots they “just so happen to find” we “just so happen to find THREE boxes of Republican ballots that “somehow got overlooked” and demand they be counted...
Fair is fair, after all, and the Dems are ALL about “fair” after all...
FWIW, I don't use Priority Express because I can't afford it (or any competing 'overnight' service). But every standard Priority Mail box/envelope I've used comes with pre-printed bar codes, straight from the manufacturer...
Several years ago, I purchased an older pump shotgun from an out-of-state FFL. I knew from doing business with him previously, that he packed the heck out of everything he shipped. After packing, he shipped my shotgun via UPS - big mistake. When it arrived at the receiving FFL, the walnut stock was in kindling-sized splinters. Now, it would take some effort to do that to a piece of walnut on purpose, so I don't honestly know what UPS accidentally did to the box to achieve that result (guessing they ran over it with a loaded forklift). Fortunately, the firearm was insured for full value, because the stock couldn't be replaced...
