First commercial, manned space flight in history. First American manned space flight since the end of the Space Shuttle program in 2011.

I have both fox news turned on and watching the feed from SpaceX. SpaceX feed is more interesting TBH.
IIRC, Falcon 9 is the rocket, and dragon is the crew module.
Think Saturn V rocket and Apollo capsule. “
Got it, thanks!
Pretty impressive, nearly one million people following on YouTube alone and it’s still about 50 minutes to launch.
Hannity can't even let Lynda give a weather report on the launch likelihood without interrupting her (this time, joking about her New York City accent).
Sheesh!

Is that old windbag still on the air and i dont mean that as a term of endearment like i do for Rush
Minda looks like Yoda’s egg pod.
Unfortunately, NASAs own craft were worse penny-pinched and mismanaged. Remember, if SpaceX screws up intentionally, they can be sued and individuals can be held responsible. NASA screwed up and killed two crews through stupidity and about nobody got fired.
The President and First Lady are touring the site, and they are not wearing the mask......
Don’t they know that they have to wear the mask?
Everyone wears the mask.
Who do they think they are?
They should put the mask on.
Who does not want to wear the mask?
When you hear the guys on the top of that rocket say Its a great day for a space launch and the American waiting for them on the station is a Navy Captain with a Bronze Star with V SEAL, saying he is waiting for his friends to arrive, you gotta love this country.

Well said. And, psychologically, I think we really, really need this to go well today.
Junk parts: the lowest bid of all!
(Alan Shepherd was once asked, “What was going through your mind as you waited to be launched?” His reply was, “That every part of the rocket was contracted to the lowest bidder!”)
Take Off
Gah. “Diversity” is the most important thing to one of the Astronauts going up on next mission. That’s what he said...
Made me want to barf.
"Grifters" don't deliver the goods....Elon does. And Aerospace has been subsidized since just after the Wright brothers over many, many presidential administrations. Beat another dead horse.
Shuttle was no doubt a riskier design. A masterpiece in some respects but overly complex in others. Built to too many requirements. Beautiful when it worked. I wouldnt say penny-pinched, but some management issues related to the incidents for sure.
Correction: lots of weather has come and gone east - actually looks pretty good for launch.
Watching the launch from the beach in the background would be cool.
OTOH, I can’t but help wonder if you’d be a little deaf or shaken by the force of the rocket launch afterwards...?
But at least they do not have a Spunick moment.
Dragon is the capsule. Falcon is the rocket that carries the capsule.
I’ll bet I spelled that Mercury astronaut’s name wrong...
