Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel is asking residents to tattle on their neighbors if they believe they are violating the governors stay-at-home order.
Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D) issued the order March 24, which bans travel and work, except for essential reasons, in an attempt to stifle the spread of coronavirus. It lasts through April 13.
Now, Nessel is urging Michiganders to contact local law enforcement if they believe their neighbors are breaking the order.
These are unprecedented times and my office is working with Gov. Whitmers office, local law enforcement agencies and other parties to ensure these executive orders are being followed, Nessel said in a statement. She continued:
The orders are in place to protect the public health and welfare of Michigans residents, and consequences will result to those found to be in willful violation. By working together through this public health emergency and staying home, we can help slow the spread of COVID-19 across the state.
Nessel asked residents to contact her office to file reports of price-gouging and scams but any other violations should be registered with police.
For other violations of the Governors executive orders, please contact the law enforcement agency where you reside, the statement read.

Yup, a Pelosi clone.
It’s no coincidence that states that are “blue” in their governor’s offices are the ones where all of the most draconian and invasive “shutdowns” are taking place.
As a truck driver I can tell you the roads are packed. Although rush hour in the DC area is certainly down.
Plus, the only parking lots I see empty are the Park & Rides that typically serve the government drones.
The vast majority of folks are working. Service industries are not. Vast swaths of government are not. Other than that it’s pretty much business as usual.
I work for FedEx and I’ve been busting my tail the past few weeks.
I agree. None of us here on freerepublic bought the global warming hoax.
I guess most Americans didn’t buy the cell phones cause cancer hoax.
But too many are buying this coronacold hoax
If everyone rats out their Chinese neighbors, orders such as this will stop in a heartbeat.
Let me see. I helped 6 neighbors do their roof, two others replace their mailboxes, and gave food to two others. Oh yeah and I helped another financially when their kid had leukemia. So I think I might be OK.
I am not working because they shut down construction. So have been working around the house.
You can bet on it.
They'll drag it back out and AMPLIFY it as soon as the 2020 Fall and Winter Flu season begins.
They'll say we learned so much during the Corona Virus event that it now needs to be applied to the annual flu season.
Outside to get fresh air today through the neighborhood. The police stopped me and a sheriff car stopped me too. I simply said I was getting some fresh air. I live in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
:)
The Governorette and Attorney Generalette got a taste of being a dictator.
They probably like it, a lot. An addictive thing, I’ll bet. Gonna crave more...
TY for what you are doing!
The biggest threat to your freedom in modern Amerika is a rogue DA or AG.
I go out for a 30 minute walk 2 times a day.
Not a peep from anyone.
Dallas, Texas, mostly still half-sane it appears.

nobody gives a crap go about your business
Essential or not
Ms. Dana Nessel is all that and so much more. She won narrowly thanks to the overwhelming Soros-subsidized populations in Detroit, Ann Arbor, and Grand Rapids that are all pretty much run by the Woke Girls and their male impersonators. The rest of Michigan wanted nothing to do with her or Gretchen Wittmer.
That being said, Ms. Nessel should stop tweeting so much about scarfing down the Skittles and read her Governor’s Executive Order a bit more closely. There are important exceptions:

7. Exceptions.

6. To obtain necessary services or supplies for themselves, their family or household members, and their vehicles. Individuals must secure such services or supplies via delivery to the maximum extent possible. 4. As required by law enforcement or a court order, including the transportation of children pursuant to a custody agreement.
My wife called the cops when there were two men in our backyard.
They were there to survey a job for my neighbor, but didn’t knock to let anyone know.
So a few months later, my neighbor called the cops on me because he thought I had blown grass on his side patio area on purpose.
I saw the cops pull into his driveway, then stomp across my front lawn to my porch. One cop rang the door bell while the other staged around the corner by my garage door with his gun by his hip.
Why all this drama?
I opened the door and the cop said the neighbor called because I had “intentionally” blown lawn clipping on his freshly cleaned patio pavers.
The great lawn clippings caper of 2014 was afoot.
I informed the Officer I had a lawn service.
Blank look. Pregnant pause.
Then he asked that I talk to them and ask them to clean up after themselves. I said sure.
Then I asked, “why didn’t he just come over and talk to me himself?”.
Cop said, “he was afraid of a confrontation”.
So to sum up, my neighbor called in a retaliatory complaint and set me up as some kind of mean neighborhood bully.
I talked to him twice before since moving in.
Once to invite him to the block party and the second time to offer to run generator power to his house when the block lost power to run his sump and keep his basement dry.
So yeah you have a good point, it WILL be abused by neighbors who hate each other or in my case when you aren’t even aware your being hated.
I have a lawn service and the cops were not happy... with him.
