Dark Matter Still Missing After Many Decades ... "Big Bang theory in trouble".

November 22, 2019 | Jerry Bergman

All the proposed candidates for mysterious, unknown stuff have failed to materialize, putting Big Bang theory in trouble.

by Jerry Bergman, PhD

The cover story of the November 16-22 New Scientist announced prominently on the cover:

“DARK MATTER: We still haven’t found it. Our theories are falling apart. Is it time to rethink the universe?” [1]

Dan Hooper, author of the cover story, is worried, because Dark Matter theory is a necessary support for the Big Bang. Thus, the Big Bang theory is also in trouble, as is the current theory about

how stars move within galaxies, and how galaxies move within galaxy clusters. Without it, we can’t explain how such large collections of matter came to exist, and certainly not how they hang together today. But what it is, we don’t know. Welcome to one of the biggest mysteries in the universe: what makes up most of it. Our best measurements indicate that some 85 per cent of all matter in our universe consists of “dark matter” made of something that isn’t atoms.[2]

Mortal humans aren’t meant to be omniscient. We will try because we are made in His image, but we won’t get there. That is reserved for the Omniscient, Omnipresent and Omnipotent One.

Don’t look at me.

I didn’t take it.

OK, maybe a little bit.

Wow, that is a ‘large body’ of work, pun sort of intended.

While he cites numerous references that are not dark matter, he ends without saying what it could be and why it does not exist.

They probably have a Categorical Error in calling it “dark matter”. It skews their perception of what they are looking for. It may have just been your run of the mill matter than existed in a different form, time, dimension, or plane (etc) before it shattered into a billion pieces and formed the galaxies.

It doesn’t make a lot of sense that all the Universe came from something that didn’t exist before the Universe came into existence. By that I mean, something likely did exist but calling it “dark matter” implies that it was something else and was transformed. I can’t deny the possibility, but then looking for it after it has been transformed seems a bit futile. Maybe if they tried calling it something other than “dark matter” they might get closer to understanding it.

In order to give, there must be something or someone to receive.

And this is why I continue to say that astro-physics is not an exact science. Much of it consists of math calculations on a white board, with little to no empirical backup. Think how many times known physics were proven wrong. Why did they wonder why galaxies stay together or hang together in clusters? I heard of gravity when I was a kid.

Yeah, I know they say gravity isn't strong enough so they have to invent dark matter. Most layman don't even know it's name is not for being dark, but because it's unseen and unproven. BTW, what happened to "string theory"?

Uh oh. Does that mean “dark energy” also doesn’t exist? More math calculations on a white board.

Big Bang goes bust?

Big Bang fizzles?

==

I always wondered how ‘nothing’ could go ‘boom’ and create the universe.

We all live in the belly of a super cute Golden Retriever. We’re just really tiny and have to wait our turn to go down the black hole.

Maybe the “dark matter “, is outside the bubble of this universe and we affect it as much as it affectts us,in it’s own bubble.
Just sayin
