I received word from 2ndDivisionVet wife that he passed away.
I am not using his real name here out of respect but, will ping his handle and his wife can if she would like.
I didn't ask what he died from but, knowing him for better than 10 years, I knew of medical conditions and a few terrible Operations he had.
He was a wonderful human being who cared deeply for his fellow Americans and the ideals that make this country so great that people the world over want to come here and be free, live in liberty and be whoever they want
If you have ever spoke with 2ndDivisionVet, you know he was quick witted and wry.
What had always amazed me about him was not just his humor but, his ability to somehow take life in stride despite all he endured and be cheerfull.
He was amazingly resourceful in scouring the web for article we might find interesting.
Yes, 2ndDivisionVet really cared about all of us and our presence in his life gave him purpose
I really wish God had let him stay but, my thoughts are more selfish than the absolute knowledge that he is in a better place.
I hope to see him again one day.
Rest in peace and smile down on us 2ndDivisionVet
May he rest in God’s love.
He will be deeply missed.

Whoa, over 400 posts in record time. He’d be proud to know how much we love him for his research and help to others.
We had an on-forum and off-forum relationship going back for a long time and commiserated with our separate illnesses and recoveries.
I’ve lost many Free Republic friends over the years and mourn for all of them. He was one of the best.
I join all of you in hoping and praying that we’ll meet again.

My prayers for his wife. I know he was having medical issues, I just didn’t know he was as bad off as he must have been. Sorry to lose him, but I know he is now with the Lord.

No! This is awful news. He was a great contributor to FR. RIP. Condolences to family and friends.
OMG, no! We’d conversed a few times over the years. He’d contributed to a fund that was set up for my wife and I after our house was hit by lightning and burned, and we were left homeless for several weeks. I knew he was in poor health, but never knew it was this bad. I saw him posting here just the other night. This is a true shock. RIP, 2ndDivisionVet. You’ll be missed.
