Too bad. No reason for that agency to be in DC. Those blood suckers can go find a job somewhere else...maybe

Move all of the “working” staff to locations more suitable for their expertise. How about BLM in Elko, Nevada? Forest Service in McCall, Idaho? Fisheries, whatever group that is, in Homer, Alaska?

Most of these pencil-necked bureaucrats never lived in in rural areas. They don’t know any farmers personally. They are food-stamp pushers whose goal is to get a cushy monthly retirement check from the federal government and they are glued to the DC lifestyle.

If they don’t want to move to the heartland, there will be hundreds of new Ag degree graduates from state schools who will be delighted to take their place. It will result in an improvement in service to rural America.

I’m all for purpling and ideally reddening of Virginia but not at the cost of bluing Kansas.

“Honestly, I’m not sure how we’re going to bounce back, or if we will,” said Laura Dodson, an agricultural economist with ERS who is now a union steward. “This agency is the product of like 50 years of institutional knowledge and gathering up researchers who are very specialized in their fields.”

Like honestly, like union scientists? Like, that's the like definition of like oxymoron.

This is a great move that makes all the sense in the world...Maybe that’s why the liberal leftists don’t like it....

Ridiculously funny when you consider many top tier corporations have various department team members scattered throughout the globe who work as one unit during the day using telephone, instant messenger, conference calls, Skype and email.

BS. They’re just lefties that do not want to leave the DC area. This is a good way to weed them out as well as save money.

“they would have a higher standard of living in KC, assuming they have the same salary and benefits, compared to their lives in expensive metropolitan Washington.”

Reminds me of a friend’s client who sold her modest home in San Diego for $600,000 and moved east and bought a McMansion.

“When I lived in California I was poor and when I moved here I became rich”.

Crocidile tears and whinning run amok. Sounds like the plan is coming together perfectly. 58 years ago, NASA decided to create the Manned Spacecraft Center in Houston. The selected spot was a cow pasture. No scientists, just cowboys. Eight years later, Apollo 11 landed on the Moon. I’m guessing that we can find plently of Agri scientists in KC, especially with one of the top Agri Schools and Vet School is at Kansas State University. No need to move these swamp creatures to the prairie.

>> looking to sideline scientists and researchers, keeping them away from the corridors of power.

So are these “science men” and “research women” about science or political power?

Is there any key reason why so many federal agencies seem to be headquartered in the Washington DC area?

Old school management bosses have to watch the employees work, instead of judge by results
