The United States Army was the villain in the Black Hawk Down incident in Somalia, U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., wrote in a 2017 Twitter post.
Omar, a Somali native elected to Congress last fall, was responding to a tweet that falsely described the 1993 Battle of Mogadishu as the worst terrorist attack in Somali history. The original tweet noted that 19 American soldiers were killed and 73 American soldiers were wounded.
In his selective memory, [the writer] forgets to also mention the thousands of Somalis killed by the American forces that day! #NotTodaySatan, Omar wrote while still a Minnesota state legislator.
Omar has repeatedly generated controversy, largely for anti-Semitic statements about Israel which employed old canards about Jewish power and money. House leaders forced her to apologize in February after she tweeted Its all about the Benjamins baby, referring to American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) alleged spending and its purported influence on American policy.
A few fringe characters have reacted to the Omar controversies by making threats against the congresswoman. Omar is an elected official, however, and her viewpoints remain a fair point for debate despite those hateful acts.

She looks like she smells like goat $hit.
I got out when we went into Bosnia. No way I was going to support that pro Muslim boondoggle. I always figured the Clintonista State Department was full Of ismamaphiles. I may have been young at the time but I found Somalia and Bosnia to be appalling, anti Christian and immoral.
We agree except I will defend and protect kids even if I don’t know them.
she labeled the USA as ‘satan’?
When I was a college professor, I had many students from African countries. There is an almost universal dislike of Somslis by other Africans especially the Sudanese. Somalis are regarded as the scum of Africa, by many other Africans
Evidently we did not get enough of them that day because she is here running her anti-American mouth.
Personally I believe that there were more than a thousand of them killed that day.
When the Marines got their in the choppers and started hosing down the hostiles and it allowed the deployment of the Army Ranger Snipers and they were instantly sitting ducks. If they stuck their heads out they were engaged.
But, it is now obvious that we should have engaged at least one more.
Her home country is a shit hole dominated by violent, inhuman, sadistic and brutal mid evil islamic rule. This anti-American POS is proud of this heritage.
Every breath of good air this woman takes is a waste of good air.
And she forgot to mention that our mission was humanitarian, and they spit on the soldiers who were bringing them food, water, and emergency supplies.
We weren’t there for war, and it wasn’t publicly known we were there at the time. But I’ll bet she got her nasty mouth fed!
The U.N. estimate was 310. the Adid forces estimated 500. Where the hell does this 1,000 figure come from? I call B.S.
A very good friend of mine and Oak Park River Forest high school classmate, Colonel Pete Blaber made his first deployment as a member of Delta Force in this incident. Thai woman is clearly deranged and an enemy of the United Stated...
Whatever, the book by Mark Bowden. I read the book many years ago and he cited that number. I think people feel the 1,000 was from one battle. Not so.

Is this terrorist an American citizen? I doubt it...I really do.
Maybe the congresscritters should worry about a BOOM ???
Amen. You could gather up a million Somalis and they wouldn’t be worth one American life.
It is unfortunate that one of the bullets those heroes fired in mogadishu didn’t meet her anti-civility, anti-American head. Strip this loser of her ill-gotten citizenship and deport her worthless being.
what the hell? ping
Anyone know why Omar’s dirt hasn’t been exposed and investigated?
Minnesota is the enemy of America. It's statehood should be rescinded.
Like most other conflicts in the 20th century, we had no reason to be there.
If she and her family were so concerned about the Somalis allegedly killed, why did they flee from their homeland?
