ACRAMENTO — With the reading of their own version of a Declaration of Independence, founders of the state of New California took the first steps to what they hope will eventually lead to statehood. CBS Sacramento reports they don't want to leave the United States, just California.

Since the People’s Republic of California is now surrounded by New California, I think some tolls and duties ought to be imposed.

Would San Diego be the capital of New California?

If the rest of the state doesn’t have to pay for New California, this may be the ticket.

New California doesn’t have any water rights, I will point out. Where they get their water is going to be the gating issue.

The United States Government will down grade Cali’s status to a “possession” before that happens.

Not at all like the secession of southern states.”

I would argue that it.. and the American Revolution..are the same in the sense of trying to escaope horseshit government.

I watched a news thingy on the taxes marijuana will generate in WA, OR, CO and CA.

It looks like CA will be able to, or are already compiling, 1 Billion dollars in revenue from pot.

Most of which is being earmarked for things like Medicaid and other such necessities.

Looks like they think they won't need the United States government for funding after all.

That's a big if.

Looks to me like that coast line is the more populated area of the state. If they were so conservative, you'd think California would be conservative.

Looks to me from the chart below that Old California would be the conservative piece, except they left San Francisco in Old California, and San Francisco is the 2nd highest density population center after Los Angeles.

Actually, it looks like San Francisco is in the New California. But I don’t trust the mixture of counties in Old California to remain Conservative.

Maybe they will go into some kind of receivership for bankruptcy and the feds can demote them to puerto rico status then rationalize the territorial boundaries. Notice the good guys get the mehican border. The dreams of la raza would die at san diego.

Seems to me the one thing that ‘New California’ lacks is a sheltered deep water port. So any tax imposed on ‘Old California’ can quickly be made up by imposing heavy taxes on goods coming into the country through its ports. Losing game for New Ca.

The top seven counties should secede and be a new state called Northern California. Also, Eastern Oregon and Eastern Washington should secede and form their own respective states.

West Virginia was created by an act of Congress and that’s the precedent for Congress to do it again.
