Recommendation? Need a Really Comfortable Travel Car, Think Sofa, With Wheels.
Recent car history Mazda MPV 1998 back when it was a great vehicle Xterra Golf TDi Jeep Sahara Unlimited
Now I need a travelin' car. I would keep the Jeep but it is too noisy.
Stopped in at a Volvo dealership and tried a s60, too stiff a ride for long trips and not comfortable seats.
Any recommendations for a really comfortable car? Just for me and perhaps one other passenger and our luggage?
I am thinking of a 2015 or 2016. All wheel drive would be nice. A little retro would be fine too.
Any ideas?

Toyota Avalon
GMC trucks from 2015 and on have great seats and are quiet. I prefer mine over ANY car. Nice ride if you keep 30 psi in tires when you don’t have a load.
Ford Flex
Series, go drive one.
True, but your not doing the downhill slalom......most of the time..................

This is not a recommendation, but reading this phrase reminded me of the cute children’s story: Amos; the Story of an Old Dog and his Couch, by Seligson. Guess what the couch did? Va Va Va ROOM! LOL, kids love it.
I’m 5’9”.................
well it’s not plaid...
We both think our Camry has very comfortable seats and it is quiet. When we recently rented the lady kept telling us how comfortable the Mazda seats were, she raved about them. I was doubtful, but she was correct, I don’t think I adjusted myself once in 500 miles.
Lexus ES model, that is...
I’ve taken my 2015 Challenger on several very long trips (up to 18 hours per day). Quiet, very comfortable for two people, big trunk, loaded with entertainment tech, great ride, good gas mileage (i’ve got the 305 HP V6). It’s as close as I could find to the concept of the 1970’s “personal luxury” coupe. I can drive it all day long and feel great when I arrive.
Nope, but there are many to be found still.
Literally the little old lady car.
Soft ride, good stereo, fairly good on gas 24/17, depending on your foot, all the bells and whistles, HUGE trunk................

Now to find a little old lady who has one with low mileage.
Why, it’s only the greatest vacation car ever made.

Yes, the Ford Flex! Rented one once. It was a great ride.
I sometimes drive my Mom’s ES-350 and it’s perfect.
We have a 2000 Buick Park Avenue Ultra with 90K original miles and it’s a dreamboat. Full leather interior, heated seats and all the goodies - the Ultra edition has a supercharged V6 which gets 20+ mpg and scares rice rockets.
They stopped making that model in 2005, but nice ones can be bought for under 5K.
I second the motion for Subaru Outback. I must have sat in 50 cars at the International Auto Show. That car was the most comfortable, roomy & nicest interior, IMO. Love my Suby!
Ford Flex
A Duoglide is pretty comfortable.
