Being a Jewish fella, I don't hold much brief for white supremacists and neo-Nazis. But until this Saturday, I hadn't seen a lot of them around lately. And I've been going about the country quite a bit for the last couple of years, hitting roughly half the states, including some like Mississippi where the Klan was once riding high.
I'm happy to report that on my visit to the black-owned Two Sister's Kitchen in the capital of that state, Jackson, blacks and whites were both equally, and contentedly in my eyes, braving the criticism of their cardiologists for what is reputed to be the best fried chicken in town. I recommend it wholeheartedly (no pun intended).
Nevertheless, the types who surfaced in Charlottesville on Saturday are certainly human beings of the most repellent and disgusting sort, murderous too -- pretty much violent, evil sociopaths. I wouldn't mind if they were all rounded up, put in a space ship, and sent on a one-way trip to Alpha Centauri.
But how many of them are there really in this land of ours and is this an epidemic?

Most of the clips I saw showed non-cops with shields and sticks hitting non-cops with shields and sticks. Both sides came looking for a fight, and they found it.

I now find that there was a permitted counter-protest. The mayor / city authorities / VA governor are morons for letting these two groups have events on the same day in close proximity.
I think the Unite The Right group on Facebook has about 3500 members. Of course, the MSM believes they’re all typical Trump voters.

No, I don’t think this is what is going on in the U.S., other than the average voter being assailed by loons from the fringes on both sides. What happened last night is what happens when you allow caravans of zealots sprinkled with thrill-seeking a-hats to come to your town and tear the place up.
Gosh, I wish the media had gotten this worked up over the horrible Berkeley violence. From what I can make out, only Tucker Carlson managed to get upset!

Failure of public safety is what’s going on.
The police and the city or university are at fault at these rallies for not keeping things under control and keeping opposite views separated. It should be safe for both Antifa and the Klan to demonstrate. if not, don’t issue a permit to the second applicant and arrest the side that has none. But letting people face off in the street and yell and throw things at each other is a formula for tragedy.
the city had an obligation to establish adequate safety when they issue a permit or know a large crowd is coming to the city. laving the street open and letting people throw things at each other and yell from opposite sides of a narrow street is not adequate safety and this and other incidents prove it. So the city IS responsible to prevent such incidents. Any rookie cop would know that people have been driving crowds into cars all over the world and here in the states.
None of the precludes a jury from finding the driver guilty. but the officials are also culpable and the DOJ or state AG should be all over that investigation . In Cal when coulter was scheduled,the chancellor of UC should have been sent to jail along with the campus police chief or the Berkeley chief for failure to protect the public and the property of the university and the first amendment rights of the group that invited her and of course Ann herself. But the governor of Cal was too busy raising taxes and hugging trees.
if these crimes and ministerial negligence were dealt with the incidents would decrease.
The governor of Va. sure isn’t helping things. Probably got his marching orders from the Clintons.
