The national movement to change racially offensive names of buildings, sports teams and landmarks will soon touch a group of schools in southeast Portland. Lynch Meadows, Lynch Wood and Lynch View elementary schools will shed their "Lynch" before the upcoming school year in response to growing concern about the word's racial connotations.
The schools, part of the Centennial School District, were named for the Lynch family, which donated land over a century ago to build the first of the schools. But Centennial Superintendent Paul Coakley says many newer families coming into the district associate the name with America's violent racial history.

I recall a few years ago, New Orleans deleted the name of George Washington school, and the stated reason was they didnt want to honor someone who owned slaves.
The school was renamed after some obscure African king.
There was no word on whether this change resulted in greater student achievement among the black students. Theoretically it should have boosted the self esteem of black children as they attended a school named after an historic actual African figure.
That's why I said, they'll get rid of the "Washington" right after they get rid of the "Redskins".

that’s a very good question. What was the “social justice” record of the African king deemed worthy of honor by the New Orleans school board???
In that case, I’m sure they would say the fact that the African king was black was also appropriate since New Orleans schools serve a mostly black student body.

Effective immediately, all Home Depots and Lowes in Oregon will no longer sell rope. It’s very offensive to the Lynch family.
I think the Lynch family should sue for their land back or the FMV of it today. If they cannot even respect the gift, they don’t deserve it.
Racial......Lynch is a Melungeon surname.
Melungeons are ultra conservative by heritage and likely not welcome in Oregon.

Lol, great work. Nope, not too young. I well remember Emily and Roseanne Roseannadanna. SNL has never come close to those early years when Gilda Radner was part of the cast. Rarely watch it these days except what some post here and other places on the net.
