Thank you, Mr Trump! First images of damage at Assad's burnt-out airbase emerge as tearful Syrians

Complete Headline: Thank you, Mr Trump! First images of damage at Assad’s burnt-out airbase emerge as tearful Syrians cheer US missile raid

These are the first images of the carnage caused by Donald Trump's Tomahawk barrage on al-Assad's badly damaged airbase as Syrians thanked the President for the raid.

US missiles appear to have shattered hangars, destroyed at least nine Syrian jets, weapons and a fuel store, as well as leaving left giant craters in the runway at al-Shayrat military airfield near Homs.

Its radar system and surface-to-air missile defences were also damaged - but crucially the laser-guided missiles avoided the Sarin stores there.

But but Syria is fighting ISIS!!! So its ok they have WMDS! They can do anything they want and we must love and support them no matter what because they are fighting! Maybe some ISIS fighting Syrian refugees can bring some sarin gas into the U.S.A.!

Yes we must not attack evil WMD using Syrian cockroaches because they are fighting ISIS cockroaches

I would have attacked Hezbollah and the Quds Forces there to send a message to Iran as well ( and to help Israel ). The US should give Israel cart blanche to deal with Assad.

If we haven’t just seen one days ago.
I remain skeptical, it made no sense for Assad to use chemical weapons at this time.
I hope Trump had solid intelligence and wasn’t shooting from the hip.
I’m open to being convinced this was the right response to the right provocation,
but until then, I remain skeptical...

Anybody who was around for the ‘07 IDF raid on Syria’s nuke facility believes every word of it. In fact, I smell that op designer’s prints on this. Too elegant, fast and flawless.

Well...he did have the Chinese leader at Dinner last night...but the missiles were launched after that was over.

The Chinese didn't know anything....but they can ask the President this morning about it.

Think about North Korea....

the irony is that this might be the first time in a long time that an attack was ordered sincerely on behalf of the innocents. but their is a high likelihood Mr T has been played by bad (no) intelligence

if this turns out to be the case, Nikki Haley should be fired, Trump may be impeached, but the neocons will perhaps protect him now

Yes! An increase in WMD attacks, after this, would be a clear, very telling, sign.

If there is no moral qualms about chemical weapons, why did even Hitler shun their use in WWII?

Because there was a credible countering force of chemical weapons in the hands of the enemy.

I'm convinced that Syria did not attack with chemical weapons, so why did US do this? Who wanted a pretext for the attack and the apparent goal to remove another sovereign leader from power?

Sarin gas: just a tiny drop kills an adult. How did anyone treating the _victims_ survive w/o any protective gear?

So far, I’m ok with this. Assad and Russia were supposed to have gotten rid of chemical weapons already. This was a violation of that deal. There had to be a prompt, focused, consequence.

Makes sense to me. Bigger question is, what’s Trump plan now? What is the big plan for Syria, the Middle East?

"For decades I’ve been wondering when the first “suitcase nuke” would be detonated in the US."

I've been wondering the same and a dirty conventional bomb is dead easy if you have access to anything radioactive.

I think that such an action would convince the useful idiots of the left that these are bad people and shouldn't be coddled anymore and even the muzzies can see that and are holding back a bit to maintain the support they have.

Yikes! Hitler was offered nukes by Nobel Prize physicist Bohr, in 1940, and refused to pursue the project. Hitler said, “The war will be over by 1942 and it will not be necessary.”

“And We are in Syrian airspace WITHOUT the permission of the Syrian government.”

I have seen films of U.S. bombers, often 1,000 or more at a time, were in German airspace WITHOUT the permission of the German government.

Listen, Assad used nerve gas on a bunch of civilians. This week is 100 years since we got into WW1 - where poison gas was used for the first time, and it was supposed to be the last time. Assad was supposed to get rid of his poison gas in 2014...and he clearly didn’t. To allow this (as Obama did) without response is to normalize the use of such weapons. What Trump did was to say, “Neither you nor anyone else had better use this type of weapon again.”

Just in case you haven’t figured it out, our troops can be the victims of this, and so can our (or friendly) civilians - and that this particular genie needs to be put back in the bottle for good.

Anyway, what would you expect, that the Syrian government would say, “Hey, that’s fine, come in and bomb us - but only tonight, after that the deal is off.” ????? No $hit we didn’t have their permission...and so bleeding what!?

Consider for a moment, that if Assad is ousted...Putin annexing Syria and controlling the desired pipeline Saudi Arabia wants.
