Discussing the overnight resignation of National Security Advisor Michael Flynn, CNN's David Gregory managed this morning to work in a broad swipe at the president. Gregory claimed that "the fledgling foreign policy in the Trump administration [has] been a disaster."
Really? Gregory ignored: the widely-praised, weekend-long meetings that Trump just concluded with Japanese PM Abe; Trump's positive conversation with Chinese Premier Xi and the confirmation of the One China policy; the re-establishment of the special relationship with the UK and its PM May, and of course the healing of ties with Israel after years of Obama animosity culminating in his perpetration of an anti-Israel Security Council resolution.

Flynn might be an honorable and qualified man, but he caved too easily and is now the goat that the media can point to and declare that “Trump’s Foreign Policy a ‘Disaster’”. If he’d stuck it out, they’d still be bashing him, but nothing stays in the press more than a few weeks and all this would be forgotten by Spring.
What a dope. Three weeks in and Trump has to deal with the entire monkey mess the clown made of the world.

THAT piece of political, foreign policy and administrative extravagance was in place, in tact and unchallenged for 8 years, but somehow no one wants to remember! For 8 years the US hemorrhaged national security and no one blinked an eye! I REMEMBER!

Since everything Obama did was a disaster, why is Gregory upset?.
That’s what I said in the thread I posted this morning. There will be no credit for letting Flynn go. They won’t give Trump kudos or go easy on him. No, like a football team that gets a TD when they are behind, it will only inspire them to go harder. They don’t hate Trump less - they want to destroy him even more. Flynn is only the first scalp.
