The Green Party is crowdfunding $2.5 million to challenge the 2016 election results in three states. Video provided by Newsy Newslook
"What we're doing is standing up for an election system that we can trust. We deserve to have votes that we can believe in,"

That has never happened before and it's not likely to happen this year. If it was that easy to discard Electoral Votes, it would be done with boring regularity in every presidential election. A state that "loses" its Electoral Votes due to such silly machinations has effectively had their entire population disenfranchised. That would be a blatant violation of every Federal statute aimed at protecting the rights of the American voter.
If no candidate has 270 ev’s, then it gets thrown in House of Reps. In there, EACH STATE gets ONE vote. I am sure there are more states with majority republican Reps.
Yes, but it was really just a symbolic vote anyway, since Grant had a big majority of the electoral vote regardless of who got all the rest of them.
No. Wrong. The constitution says a majority of the electors. Not a majority of 538
Not so.
If the re-count cannot meet the certification deadline imposed by the constitution (12/13), the state legislature is empowered to appoint its own slate of electors to vote in the Electoral College (12/19).
Inasmuch as both houses of the legislature of all three states are controlled by Republicans, Trump will not be denied any EV.
This is not what happens. I've posted the Twelfth Amendment so many times I'm sick of it. He only needs a majority of the electors actually appointed. If all three states are disqualified, he still has 260, she has 232. He would win, and the election would NOT go to the House.
It’s not 270. It’s a majority of the electors appointed. Hillary cannot win simply by stalling the recount in three states, she has to FLIP THEM by December 13th.
and the clinton crime foundation will pay for it
December 19th is the vote. December 13 is the deadline.
Not true at all.
There is no reason in the world why they could not have started the process of petitioning the Courts in MI and PA before the weekend. They haven't filed in either state, and they don't even promise the money raised will be used for the recount effort. Why not?
Yes, if all three states electors are unable to cast their combined 46 electoral college votes, then per the 12th amendment, the new electoral college majority needed is 247 votes. Trump is at 260 without these 3 states. Trump wins Electoral College election with 260 votes.
Only way for Hildebeast can win is she can either steal all three or steal PA + either MI or WI, then block the other from casting its electoral votes to narrowly win the new Electoral College majority!
Without these three states Trump leads Hildebeast by 28 electoral votes 260-232. WI and MI would still leave her 2 short of Trump and he barely wins electoral college majority if PA’s electoral voters are blocked from vioting.
BUSH WON the recount in Florida. He was a republican.
Yes, I know.
I already retracted my comments further upthread.
Ah! from Wiki...
“The New York legislature failed to appoint its allotted 8 electors in time, so there were no voting electors from New York.
...
One elector from Virginia did not vote and another elector from Virginia was not chosen because an election district failed to submit returns.”
So, according to Wiki, 2 states failed to appoint (all) their electors.
Gee, you’d think they’d have been enthusiastic and all charged up to do it right the first time.
Clinton needs to win all three states in order to win the election. There was no reason to bother filing in the states with the later deadlines until they knew that the Wisconsin recount petition was successful.
I agree with you on one thing: This has nothing to do with contesting the results and everything to do with lining the pockets of election lawyers and campaign staff at the expense of stupid, gullible donors. Several leftist websites have been warning their readers not to donate any money to this effort for this very reason. Some of these Democrats are extremely pissed off because they're trying to raise money in a desperate attempt to help the Democrat candidate win the U.S. Senate runoff election in Louisiana, and they think this money would be better spent on that race.
Her argument was that exit polls that went for Hillary didn’t match the actual vote totals showing a Trump win...this is what got the VNS in trouble in 2004 when it relied on exit polling which went wildly askew with the in coming numbers. People often lie to pollsters and Democrats tend to really boast for their candidates in greater numbers than conservatives, thus the exit polls for Dem’s get artificially inflated. The so-called “scientists and vote experts” cited by Stein are relying on imputed weightings and expectations of what the vote should be based on Demographics of given precincts versus what actually took place. Their theories don’t account for the fact that people may often change their minds and vote in a different way than expected. Humans will always be an ex factor that mathematics can’t predict!
I keep reading that Michigan already DID a recount, probably because it was so close. The volunteers must be for a hand recount? I doubt if Jill, the Insane, has much of a case.

“The election was held on November 2, 2004, with the initial count showing Gregoire trailing Rossi by 261 votes.”
But not 10,000 votes or more! This is just “hail Mary” BS, all of it, and it shows you the depth of the moral depravity in the RAT Party. As the fortunes of each party ebb and flow election after election, we always here how the down and out party won’t be back soon, but it is until now. If Donald Trump does anything like what he’s promised, this will be the first time that a party doesn’t come back anytime soon. The difference is that unlike the “generic GOPe,” he’s actually going to do something other than sit home and play pocket pool like the GOPe does in the Congress every time they are given a chance to “lead.”
