The winner of the U.S. presidential election will be determined by about 17 swing counties, with a total of about 500,000 swing voters between them. The American public has heard that 12 swing states will determine who will be the next president. But a book, Presidential Swing States: Why Only Ten Matter, by Hamline University Professor David Schultz, who also edits the Journal of Public Affairs Education, predicts a very small number of America’s 3,142 counties and county equivalents will tip the balance.
In Ohio, it’s Hamilton County, home to Cincinnati;
In Pennsylvania, the key counties are Bucks and Chester Counties, to the north and south of Philadelphia; along with Lackawanna and Luzerne Counties, straddling Scranton and Wilkes Barre in its western interior;
In Florida, it’s Hillsborough and Pinellas Counties, surrounding Tampa and St. Petersburg;
In Wisconsin, the keys are Brown County and Winnebago County near Green Bay; plus Racine County to the south near Chicago suburbs;
In Iowa, it’s rural tiny Bremer County;
In New Hampshire, it’s inland Hillsborough Township, on the Massachusetts border;
In Nevada it is Clark County, home of Las Vegas;
In Virginia, it’s Prince William County, outside Washington D.C.;
In North Carolina, it’s Wake County, which encompasses Raleigh and Durham;
In New Mexico, it’s Bernalillo County, along with Albuquerque and Dona Ana County near Las Cruces.

D-uh. Not hard to make that prediction.
There are teams of people on this problem and God help them stop any electronic fraud that might occur.
But this thread is trying to inform people of this form of fraud that has never before been seen on the scale it is now possible and expected.
The old stories and complaints about the dead voting, busing people around etc. all those old arguments have been pushed aside in favor of massive and more efficient electronic theft.
People should ask themselves why is Soros involved in controlling the software for all these voting machines and electronic systems? The answer should be obvious. His IT people are now controlling systems in EVERY state, why? This is not conspiracy, these are facts.
If people are informed, and there is a scuffle or argument at a polling station or county election room, then it helps to know what the conflict issue is. I expect people to chime in support of poll watchers who demand machines be stopped and paper ballots be tallied instead.
Until uniform secure electronic standards and systems are in place, our elections are vulnerable.

Back to where there the Scantron machines are located, a poll watcher can have a team keep a separate tally of what goes into the machine, and then, walk over to see the totals displayed on the GEMS computer BEFORE THE TOTALS ARE UPLOADED!
If there is any discrepancy, call 9-11 immediately, don’t mess around. Demand the election official stop using all machines and telephone the results into the state election office.

I don’t think author was necessarily trying to imply that he is some sort of prescient professor to choose Clark County—he has included it in the 17 counties he feels will impact the election.

Hmm what you say makes sense, yet counties such as Cook County, IL (much larger than Las Vegas/Clark County), are not included on the list...
Seems it is about more than just population and democratic percentages...There is an unpredictability to them that makes them swing counties...

The demographics of Clark County fit the professor’s criterion of having mixed red and blue elements. It is not solidly one way or the other.
Thus, NV’s 6 electoral votes are in play and Clark County is the county that determines which way they go.
NV is a swing state, so Clark County is a battleground county.

Why did you post this on a thread advocating responsible civic duty to prevent vote fraud...And just what do you even mean by using the word “crap” to describe what I posted????? Thanks 2009 freeper.
I posted this because it is imperative that we stop voter fraud in any locations where we can. Perhaps you have not been paying attention but even Mr. Trump has been concerned about this. He has a signup for poll watching, so why the H*ll would we not want to go to pivotal swing counties?!?!?!
I suggest you read the article and author’s credentials and contentions as well as the additional commentary provided by responsible contributors to the thread before posting crap on the thread.

My comment (which was somewhat sarcastic when you consider who I "voted" for) is that, for 99.99% of those voting, the national (and in many cases, state) elections are meaningless, since the rolls are heavily skewed to one party or the other. Heck, for Senator, I can vote for the Democrat, or I can vote for the OTHER Democrat. Some choice!
About the only vote I had that could have an impact is for the State legislature, where we have a decent incumbent Republican against a union bought-and-paid-for Democrat opponent who even the SF Chronicle has called out for her slimy tactics. That and voting against all of the propositions from all of the special interests.
I can only hope and pray that my fellow FReepers in the rest of the country where there are actual contests will do the right thing and pull that lever, punch out that chad, or mark the oval to keep this country from total ruin.
The bureaucrats live up in Fairfax County which borders the D.C. Swamp. The illegal aliens who mow the bureaucrats' yards live in Prince William.

Well, I know how you feel—I am in Soviet Republic of Illinois :( However, we do have a choice in Senators and I do have a choice in Congressman.
That said, I will vote because every single vote helps the popular vote regardless of the “blueness” of the state.
Also, though I am in a suburban precinct, I will be watching for unusual behavior and activities—ready to report to Trump campaign should I see something.
The swing counties noted in article are not meaningless—they are unpredictable and vulnerable to theft...They are unlike the 99.9% of the counties you are claiming are heavily skewed one way or the other...
