This is a news forum. But I sure am seeing a lot of vanity posts lately.
You know our readers generally frown on vanities (unless exceptional in quality) so if you feel the urge to post yet another run of the mill vanity, please resist it.
Or, in the very least, be sure to submit a donation along with your vanity submission.
Thank you very much.
thank you
BUMP to you Jim. Thanks for bringing this up.
Vanities should be posted in Chat only. I see vanities all the time posted in Bloggers. That area is not for vanities.
Jim is right: this is a news forum. Take your vanities to FaceBook or Twitter or some other social media outlet.
You list missed the Vanity Posts that don't have Vanity in the title.
Sort of like Algore “Carbon Credits”. I like it.
Newbie here...
Is there a certain forum one should post vanities?
Also, all my posts go into a review period. Is that because I’m new?
My favorites are the opuses. Haven’t had a good one in awhile.
I love it!!!!
Wow, thanks so much for clearing that up and answering my questions. I thought that maybe vanity posts belonged in one of the many forums you have set up. Like the general/chat forum perhaps?
Think long and hard before doing it even there.
If you are going to post a breaking news vanity it should be something along the lines of "Trump and Hillary are dueling with swords on my front lawn right now" not "why can't we settle the election with a cage death match".
I’ve only pinged the members that show multiple vanities as per your link because they have not posted on this thread.
Ok. Thanks!
Vanities is one thing, but what is really killing us are all the postings using sources that have no credibility and turn out making us look like a laughing stock. These need to stop!
If a person is unclear whether their source is believable, maybe they should not post it. Perhaps there could be a way where they can submit it for verification before it actually hits the board.
It is very tiresome to click on a fantastic link only to find out that it is debunked by the third response . . . and the liberals get to have a field day laughing at Jim Robinson and his FreeRepublic!
Like your suggestion, Jim!
Amen.
I usually skip the vanities - from long experience here not interested. Some may be interesting but most are just, excuse the term, hot air.
Please read Jim's message again.
He is asking you to refrain from posting vanities, unless it is a well-researched article with original content. There are categories for that: the same ones used for lamestream media articles.
If you need further guidance, please see this posting.
