State Department Fails to Produce Court Documents Because File Exceeded Bandwidth Limit
Townhall.com ^ | September 27, 2016 | Cortney O'Brien

The State Department is still having an issue with emails. A court ordered the agency to provide documents to the Daily Caller News Foundation by Monday night, but a technical snafu caused them to miss the deadline. The file, the department explained, was just too big.

The size of the file attached to the email, however, exceeded the maximum file size allowed for the mobile device used by counsel for State, and thus transmission of the email did not complete.

SeeExhibit B. Counsel for State was unaware of this fact until this morning, September 27, 2016.

State sent a follow-up email at 7:45 a.m. Tuesday with the documents, along with an apology.

The Daily Caller had asked for documents to help with their investigation into whether Hillary Clinton and her staff took part in security training. In her interview with the FBI over the summer, Clinton said she didn’t remember if she had or not.

Her mishandling of classified information on a private server suggests one of three things: One, she didn’t receive briefings. Two, she did receiving training and, like she said, forgot it. Three, she received training and ignored it.

The Hill notes that this is an “embarrassing” headline for the State Department. The court ordered the next releases for Oct. 3 and Oct. 10.

So the judge should find them in contempt, lock someone up, and see how long it takes for them to "zip" condense the files? Fine them $25K per day until they comply.

Hillary hates losing "Her Money", because it's all "Her Money".

The State Dept is obviously trying to transfer the data as non machine readable hard copy image files such as jpeg to make life as difficult as possible for Caller

Anyone who used computers during the dial up era should have immediately thought of that.

If you want to do something, you’ll find a way. If you don’t want to do something, you’ll find an excuse.

Regardless of how they are trying to transfer it, if they were seriously making an effort, they would break it down into mailable packets.

Or how about putting onto some other media? A thumb drive? A CD?

There are lots of options.

Yet Mills mailed an entire laptop via regular mail. Claims it was lost in mail and has never been found. These scum will continue to get away with everything until the election is over. They should be personally fined or jailed immediately.

Note: Hillary’s written Depostions are due on 9/27/16. I wonder if they will ever comply or just pull this same stunt.

Thumb drive plus Fedex overnight should do the trick.

Its funny how the IT acumen at all federal levels is so dismal, isn't it.

And coincidentally it always helps the perps avoid disclosure.

Coincidence, yeah, that's the ticket.

I guess there’s no such thing as private courier, FedEx, or US mail anymore.

Stonewalling.

They were using a mobile device to send the email?

Of course they are. I don't understand why a FOIA can't be written with the caveat that material requested will be in machine readable format.

I think State delayed this delivery purposely so Hillary wouldn't have been blindsided in last night's debate by some little nugget gleaned from the FOIA'ed documents.

Or TIFF's. But, from a mobile device?

Did someone forward it to the lawyer, who then tried to mail it to Daily Caller?

Or did someone take pictures of printed documents with their phone, and try to mail all of the photos as attachments to a single email?

Sometimes, people try to do the darndest things with technology they don't understand.

Is there a secondary school student in the entire country who couldn’t have managed it?

I used to have that problem with my corporate email account which limited single emails to 10mb. The problem was easily fixed by attaching the jumbo file to an outgoing transmission from my gmail account and notifying the recipient to be on the lookout. You can also upload that problem file and allow the receiver to download it. All kinds of ways to get around the size limitation, but I suppose the State Department’s employees have all wiped their servers and minds clean with a cloth.

The Secretary of State should then be held in contempt and arrested.
