Ervin explained in her Facebook post that on September 19, "while in uniform, I made the conscious decision to not stand for the Star Spangled Banner because I feel like a hypocrite, singing about 'land of the free' when, I know that only applies to some Americans." Ervin said in the post that she was punished by Navy officials and that the "equipment I need to do my Naval job" was taken away.

To many of us "Oldtimers", the phrase "Your Heart May Belong to Mama but..., YOUR ASS BELONGS TO UNCLE SAM" may sound familiar! I guess it is too PC to emphasis such a phrase in today's "Military Occupations Jobs Program"?
You have to ask?
Wonderfull !!!
Dock her C.O.’s pay for the cost of a mop and bucket, and give her the equipment she needs to do her job. Tell her she’s to mop from 0500 to 2100, with 3 15 minute breaks for meals and other needs, with the freedom to mop during the National Anthem if she wishes. There’s always a deck somewhere that could use a good swabbing.
There are plenty of Latrines to clean and plenty of Potato’s to Peel on the United States Navy Vessel she is Serving on.
First point of order, cleaning the Brig with a Toothbrush.
Kick her ass out on a administrative discharge. For the good of the service. No room for that in the military.
No country needs disloyal people in their army.
This is what happens as a result of recruiting people on the basis of what freebies and benefits they can get from the country
by enlisting in the military rather than appealing to their patriotism and the opportunity to serve the nation.
Remember JFK’s inaugural address:
“And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.”
Today the democrats would be embarrassed to have a democrat president utter such a thought.
I am a retired reserve O6. You give up very few rights being in the military. Yeah, you can't just up and quit on a moments notice, but in civilian life you have to do your job, and in most jobs you can't tell your boss to f-off either. In fact in the military you can't be fired the way you can in the civilian world. Disciplined, sure, but it's like extra duty for a first offence, loss of pay, demotion, confinement to the ship. To go to the brig requires court martial generally for a serious crime.
GOOD!
Hope it was 7 days in the brig on bread and water.
BCD and send her home!
Good point. I was wondering if there was something else behind this story.
Well honey buns, after your well deserved Bid Chicken Dinner you can make a conscious decision to not stand for the Star Spangled Banner but not while in the uniform you are disgracing.
Dishonorable discharge is right. Make an example of her and force Obama to react.
There is so much pc bs to put up with and pc s charges that can be brought up, no thanks. Totally hostile environment for Christians as well today. I know military who have left because of it. Its going pagan and pc and homotranny to the max. Its only going to get worse.
I wonder what O. will think, the next time he sends people to do ‘Naval Jobs’, or ‘Corpse’-men or or other military to do “Jobs” - and they just make a ‘conscious decision’ to fail to follow custom, discipline, orders?
Jeez.
What'd they do, take her cell phone?
There is always something else behind these stories.
Remember all the Mizzou basketball players. A number of them were on the verge of flunking out. Mezzo doesn’t dare flunk them out now. Their protest worked.
