I am a retired reserve O6. You give up very few rights being in the military. Yeah, you can't just up and quit on a moments notice, but in civilian life you have to do your job, and in most jobs you can't tell your boss to f-off either. In fact in the military you can't be fired the way you can in the civilian world. Disciplined, sure, but it's like extra duty for a first offence, loss of pay, demotion, confinement to the ship. To go to the brig requires court martial generally for a serious crime.
There is so much pc bs to put up with and pc s charges that can be brought up, no thanks. Totally hostile environment for Christians as well today. I know military who have left because of it. Its going pagan and pc and homotranny to the max. Its only going to get worse.
Go to the brig for a serious crime, eh? Guess being drunk coming aboard ship after leave is a serious crime? I know the wretch that sold his car to 8 people took their money is not a serious enough crime as he was never investigated when his chief was told. The subsequent beating he got put those who beat him so he spent time in the infirmary for the next month yielded the person brig time. This woman needs brig time as not standing for the national anthem is a serious crime. For an O6 to say that this is not is an O6 I would salute but would never respect. Respect the bars but not the man.
When I was in boot camp at GLNTC more than 50 yrs. ago we were told that by enlisting we had given up our 2nd, 4th and parts of our 1st amendment rights. There may have been more, but it was a long time ago.
