There was a police shooting of an armed man on Friday afternoon in Milwaukee and people gathered to protest the death of the man which catapulted the city into chaos. After a standoff between police and the angry crowd for a few hours, things escalated and soon cars, businesses, and even a gas station were set on fire to protest the shooting.
The Milwaukee Police News gives the details of the initial shooting that started the rage:
The incident began when two uniformed MPD officers stopped two suspects in a car in the 3200 block of N. 44th Street at about 3:30 p.m. on August 13. Shortly after stopping the suspects, both occupants fled from the car on foot. The officers pursued the suspects, and during the foot pursuit one officer shot one suspect, armed with a semiautomatic handgun, in a yard also in the 3200 block of N. 44th Street. The suspect died from his injuries at the scene.
The suspect is a 23-year-old Milwaukee man with lengthy arrest record. The handgun he was armed with was taken in a burglary in Waukesha in March of this year. The victim of that burglary reported 500 rounds of ammunition were also stolen with the handgun.
The officer is a 24-year-old, male, assigned to MPDs District 7. He has six years of service with MPD, three years as an officer. He was not injured and, as is standard practice, will be placed on administrative duty during the investigation and subsequent review by the Milwaukee County District Attorneys Office.
I just checked the weather forecast for Milwaukee. For the next few days, it’s low 80s during the day, low 70s at night, no rain. Perfect weather for thuggery.
When insurrectionists riot, destroy property, and threaten the lives of innocent people, the police need to shoot those insurrectionists to stop that threat. Failure, or the order from their superior, not to should be regarded as complicity in that insurrection.
That really p8isses me off. They have not a clue. If hil wins they will get their black power dreams. Poverty, illness, dying at young age. The streets here will be like Rio on a good day.
Used to be, Blacks addressed things that were done to them that were wrong. Hey, they had reason to in some instances.
Now it has devolved into a situation where some Blacks are angry because other people were successful, and they aren’t.
Hey, that White guy has money. He’s evil.
Nope, failing more evidence, focusing on him is what is evil.
More guns will be sold in Wis and near by states in the upcoming week or so.
Each new gun owner will probably be a voter for the pro NRA candidate for President. That will not be Crooked Clinton.
It really is. Today is gorgeous. It had been humid and now, perfect. I have a friend starting a new job in Milwaukee tomorrow. I imagine the thugs will be asleep when she goes in but, when she leaves.....
Why they tackin that black car?
Burning and looting is NOT protesting.........they should be shot on sight.
The car was a chevy so really no great loss.
It should be front and center. The last Republican Milwaukee mayor left office in 1908. Every mayor since, with the exception of three socialists, has been a democrat.
bump
I forgot about your wife’s Wisconsin connection. And, I’m glad I’m currently living at the far, far end of a dead end road! :)
Yep. Beau and I have upped our arsenal substantially these past few years. ;)
Just reported...17 arrests??? why weren’t there 100s?
My gosh they had 6 stores burned...7 office cars ruined...looting and theft throughout....not to mention the lost jobs....40 injured officers....and ONLY 1 arrests?
Then they wonder why they have problems there.
sorry 17 arrests.
Officer is BLACK!
“If I had shot my Ex back when he deserved it, I’d be out of prison by now!” ;)
Word is getting around! This from Washington, DC:
