Ted Cruz was a college debater. That requires different skills than oratory. You have to be able to talk and think fast and answer your opponent's arguments with objections and counterarguments. If you counter every objection convincingly you win. You don't have to sound good or make a pleasant impression on people.

I think what you heard is true. Newt’s original speech (teleprompter screen capture) doesn’t make sense otherwise. They may have all been made aware only 2 hours prior that Cruz wouldn’t endorse but by then too late to change anything.

I don’t know about Savage. Levin just on (can’t help myself). Man... can he spin! Called last night a phony drama. Defending Cruz (the wife/father thing). Said there was no pledge. Said Trump blew it. Turned him off again.

Funny you say that. My brother and I were just talking about last night on the phone and he said: “What I REALLY don’t understand is why the people of Texas elected Cruz to begin with... didn’t they see what he is, or do they LIKE what he is?”.
The first words out of Limbaughs mouth was a thin slight at Melania Trumps speech, the very first words..... I’ve lost 97% respect for the man. The other 3% is in the red.
I think caucuses need to be disbanded. Let all the people vote in a primary.
LOL! My husband calls it his preacher voice too! I've been waiting for a year to see the brilliant debate master surface but, I never saw it.
I will say this is the best election cycle ever and the 2nd best convention (1976 wins top spot). We certainly aren't bored!
