Trump said he'd go after Clinton like nobody else could or would. But his attacks have been low-energy and ineffective. One of his selling points, which he reiterated frequently, was that he alone had the cojones to go after Hillary Clinton. He promised he would.
Amid a flurry of more exciting tweets and speech moments, he has continually critiqued her judgment, energy level, campaign ability, and character. He’s tested out insults, landing on “Crooked Hillary” as his choice.
In June, he promised he’d ramp up attacks against her. He spent weeks saying he’d go after her, finally doing so toward the end of June. It was fine but didn’t really land a punch. Politico said the teleprompter-delivered speech was “subtler” and more “conventional” than his other campaign rhetoric.

As for corrupt email practices, recent days saw Bill Clinton secretly meeting with Attorney General Loretta Lynch on a tarmac, Hillary suggesting she’d keep Lynch as AG after her election, Hillary meeting with FBI agents investigating the scandal, leaks to CNN just hours after that meeting saying she’d get away with everything, and a 10-minute denunciation by the FBI director of everything Hillary had claimed about the email scandal. It reeked to high heaven of corruption.

Did the Federalist handwring about when Romney was *really* going after Obama? If so, I don’t remember it. Incidentally, Trump has already attacked Hillary more than Romney attacked Obama.

He has already attacked her more than McCain and Romney ever attacked Obama, and more than any of the GOPe candidates would, or Ryan. He has attacked her in speeches, and tweets, and on tv. If the author wants him to spend money on tv ads, I’m sure he will, in time. In the meantime Hillary has been digging herself into a hole, and providing a lot of material for Trump to use.

I hope he talks about the path to 9/11 and the women who accused Clinton of rape. His speech about her didn’t get enough attention.

You must have missed the speech he gave that very night that was over an hour long and was covered in its entirety by CNN and partially by Fox and MSNBC. He attacked Hillary brutally over the email scandal throughout the speech (and even added in mentions of Whitewater and her cattle futures scandal).
By the way, the Iraq issue was the press’s choice for a diversion. Trump had said the *exact* same thing about Saddam Hussein before on many occasions. The media simply chose to start a bunch of BS about it this time for obvious reasons. They were grasping at straws with hopes of helping Hillary. Why didn’t they make a big deal about it the first half dozen times he said it?

Gotta hit the right balance and timing. Trump has not been too soft on Hellary. Me thinks they are trying to goad him into going over the top.
