[George Will]:If Trump is nominated, the GOP must keep him out of the White House
Washington Compost ^ | 29 April 2016 | George Will

Donald Trump’s damage to the Republican Party, although already extensive, has barely begun. Republican quislings will multiply, slinking into support of the most anti-conservative presidential aspirant in their party’s history. These collaborationists will render themselves ineligible to participate in the party’s reconstruction.

Ted Cruz’s announcement of his preferred running mate has enhanced the nomination process by giving voters pertinent information. They already know the only important thing about Trump’s choice: His running mate will be unqualified for high office because he or she will think Trump is qualified.

Hillary Clinton’s optimal running mate might be Sen. Sherrod Brown of Ohio, a pro-labor populist whose selection would be balm for the bruised feelings of Bernie Sanders’s legions. Running mates rarely matter as electoral factors: In 2000, Al Gore got 43.2 percent of the North Carolina vote. In 2004, John Kerry, trying to improve upon Gore’s total there, ran with North Carolina Sen. John Edwards but received 43.6 percent. If, however, Brown were to help deliver Ohio for Clinton, the Republican path to 270 electoral votes would be narrower than a needle’s eye. [SNIP]

Trump would be the most unpopular nominee ever, unable to even come close to Mitt Romney’s insufficient support among women, minorities and young people. In losing disastrously, Trump probably would create down-ballot carnage sufficient to end even Republican control of the House. Ticket splitting is becoming rare in polarized America: In 2012, only 5.7 percent of voters supported a presidential candidate and a congressional candidate of opposite parties.

It’s fine for that antiAmerican muslim dictator to be in the White House, but not Donald Trump! What are Will’s qualifiers for residency? and since when is he qualified to be the judge and jury... a self appointed elite club member who believes the people are ignorant masses. All this must chafe Will to his very core.

It's true.  And ever since the days of This Week with David Brinkley, George Will has been put out there as the sour pussed "face of conservatives" for millions of TV viewers.

He's done decades of damage to the true conservative cause, and now, finally we will soon shake off the spell of these neocons and imposters like Will, Levin, and the Bushies.

George Will needs to come and live in ‘flyover country’ for a year while trying to find a job and live on the local economy exclusively.

Otherwise to me, he is just another elitist DC ‘insider’.

On Tuesday the Will type GOPe is going to steal Indiana just like they did Wisconsin from Donald Trump.

Keep in mind that TED Cruz has no problem with that.

Proving he is a GOPe pig.

Will calls Trump “the most anti-conservative presidential aspirant in [the GOP’s] history”

Yet he does not specify even one single position of Trump that is supposedly “anti-conservative”. Is securing the border with a physical barrier anti-conservative? Is limiting our wars to winnable, clearly defined objectives anti-conservative? Is it anti-conservative to oppose unfair trade deals or allied freeloading?

Will does not talk about issues because on most issues Trump actually is conservative. Or at least he is conservative enough for most Republicans under current circumstances. Instead, Will focuses on Trump’s personality and demeanor. Which is a loser’s philosophy: when you hire a doctor or a coach or a garbage man, etc..., do you have a contest to see who is the most gentlemanly and would be the best fit at your country club (a contest Cruz would lose BTW) or do you hire the most qualified guy who is most likely to get the job done?

Also, how “conservative” have been many of the candidates that Will has supported over the years? Trump is more “anti-conservative” than Linda Graham? Than Mitt Romney who ran for the senate in Mass. to the left of Ted Kennedy in 1994? GW Bush who ran for election in the midst of trying to bring democracy to Iraq and who was a promoting a “Global Democratic Revolution”? These guys were just peachy for George Will but Trump is supposedly a far out “anti-conservative”. How can anyone take this guy seriously?

Will’s faculties seem to be in decline. Very sad.

"Republican quislings will multiply"

What are you, if not a quisling, too, George Will?

"In 2000, Al Gore got 43.2 percent of the North Carolina vote."

Jesus H. Christ, George, Algore lost his home state next door! Completely invalid comparison viz Kerry/Edwards.

Somebody needs to tell George Will to shut up, go home, and stay there. Poor old fool. Some people never know when it’s over.

"Wouldn’t if be something if six months into his term he came out of a meeting with Senator Schumer and announced that since the Republicans are impossible to deal with, he’s switching parties? That would be historic."

If Schuck Fumer came out of a meeting and switched parties, yes, that would be historic.

Will is an insufferable east coast pseudo-intellectual whose world view is fueled by the delusion that the smartest people in the world are those who attended specific universities and law schools. That is a very narrow-minded, definitively false, and sad world view, but it will allow him to keep getting lectureships and invited to rub elbows in polite company.

George Will has once again, shown his true and pathetic RINO-colors, a pathetic little crap weasel who is at heart, a Democrat, masquerading as a so-called 'conservative Republican' most of his miserable life.

Not surprising that he has such an interest in baseball, since he is perpetually a foul ball.

I would make a hefty wager however, that if for some reason Trump decided to choose Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker as his VP running mate (Mrs. George Will's former employer), that George would do a 180 degree turn and sing the praises of Trump, so long as Governor Walker brought Mrs. Will back onto the payroll.

Will is a total effin' hypocrite, it not not surprise me.

Wonder if these folks even own a gun? It is California..probably not. This IS the reason we have a 2nd amendment. Folks have a right to defend themselves.

If the crowd of greasers were to have pulled them from the car, likely would have beaten them within an inch of their lives, but....but, if you had a sidearm with a couple of extra mags, some of their families would be weeping as well.
