Donald Trump insisted Friday he had nothing to do with the recent National Enquirer story in which Texas Sen. Ted Cruz is accused of cheating on his wife multiple times.
Still, Trump took the moment to point out the tabloid publication has been right in the past with similar stories.
“I have no idea whether or not the cover story about Ted Cruz in this week’s issue of the National Enquirer is true or not, but I had absolutely nothing to do with it, did not know about it, and have not, as yet, read it,” Trump said in a statement. “Ted Cruz’s problem with the National Enquirer is his and his alone, and while they were right about O.J. Simpson, John Edwards, and many others, I certainly hope they are not right about Lyin’ Ted Cruz.”

On twitter today, they say that the Cruz campaign actually bought the rights to Melania’s picture. I didn’t realize that when I saw the article about Jeff Roe ordering the ad, but it makes sense. How else could they use Melania’s picture in that ad.

Just love how for the past 2 days Levin and Limbaugh went over and over and on and on about how the PAC that released the picture was an “Anti-Trump” PAC, not a “Pro-Cruz” PAC. So inspite Levin’s screaming and ranting, they were totally wrong, and “pure as the driven snow” Cruz (who has had 8 alleged affairs) actually was involved in the smear attack of Melania.

Actually it is a problem for me and I will tell you why. So far the information is unverifiable. FR keeps popping up in the searches regarding the information. I have gone through the links and so far there is nothing there except for tracking back to twitter. GQ has nothing on their site or their Twitter site. There is no Ben Shales on twitter (well there is one but no posting in five years.
Either the information is true or it is not true. If true that Jeff Roe secured the rights to the Melania pic and then passed it on the Make America Awesome Pac...that would be an FEC violation. It would also doom Cruz because he stated emphatically that his people had nothing to do the the Melania pic. This goes to the core of Cruz’s truthfulness.
I am a Trump supporter, but I do not want to pass around information that is demonstrably false...maybe you do or don’t care, I don’t know. Maybe you support Cruz...I don’t know one way or another. But if information is going to be posted on FR it should be true so its merits can be argued. I am getting very close to declaring that Jeff Roe did not secure the rights to the Melania pic. I do not know who did, but so far I can not find an independent source other than random twitter posts and blog comment entries.

I do not trust Trump. Since Zero has gotten away with his executive actions, the precedent is set. We don't know how bad things could get since the Constitution has been disregarded for years.
I like Cruz because he wants to restore power to the States. Haven't heard anything about that from Trump.
