'We stand by the integrity of our coverage and remain committed to our aggressive reporting'
Donald Trump insisted Friday he had nothing to do with the recent National Enquirer story in which Texas Sen. Ted Cruz is accused of cheating on his wife multiple times.
Still, Trump took the moment to point out the tabloid publication has been right in the past with similar stories.
I have no idea whether or not the cover story about Ted Cruz in this weeks issue of the National Enquirer is true or not, but I had absolutely nothing to do with it, did not know about it, and have not, as yet, read it, Trump said in a statement. Ted Cruzs problem with the National Enquirer is his and his alone, and while they were right about O.J. Simpson, John Edwards, and many others, I certainly hope they are not right about Lyin Ted Cruz.
The National Enquirers parent company, AMI, also released a statement

Quit your manic stalking!
As if there’s a rule. I’ve seen many articles about either candidate in which the supporter of the one not mentioned chimes in about their candidate. I’d like to think we Freepers can walk and chew gum at the same time
Actually I am a genius- how did you know? I guess it is my intelligent tasteful posts. You on the other hand believe the NE story without evidence. Good thinking! LOL! Good-bye.
The NE is not backing down. Why do you think that is?
If all this is untrue, I expect Ted to sue them ASAP!
I’m a Trump supporter but has any woman come out and admitted an affair with Cruz? I think we should all be careful about buying into the sleaze the NE is selling. Where are the hard facts to back up their claims? Not buying the load of BS. With that said, go Trump.
“GQ sales department confirmed Jeff Roe ordered the ad (Melania Trump).” The GQ sales department might be able to confirm that someone ordered a copyrighted photo of the GQ cover, but they would have no information about who ordered an ad unless the ad ran in GQ Magazine. The Melania Trump “ad” did not run in GQ. For some funny headlines regarding the relationship between Donald Trump and David Pecker (National Enquirer), follow #TrumpLovesPecker.
You should be ashamed of yourself. I’ve seen you claim to be a Christian and there is nothing Christian about your behavior of bearing false witness against a man and his family to destroy him.
Are you married? If so how would you feel if this was happening to you? If people were spreading this information about your husband? Or your dad? Why are you doing this? You need to step back from this awful behavior and recognize how detrimental it is to all involved.
When the paid ops of the GOPe troll FR attacking Trump and his supporters at every opportunity you have no grounds to feign outrage.
The Cuban Mistress Crisis has legs and Cruz is going away.
I was not aware of that rule -did you just make it up?
sainTED busTED
I think Ted is now experiencing KARMA, huh?
Send your reply/question to the NE and see how their legal beagles respond to you!
Trump never set himself up as God-like. Cruz is a hypocrite.
Wow, just wow, if this mistress slander turns out to have no foundation, will you apologize to your fellow FReepers and ask God for forgiveness for YOUR bearing false witness?
wow. this is like reply number 20 :)
It’s not a rule, just common sense.
I'm cautious about the truthfulness of this story until proven, but in what way is posting a story bearing false witness?
wow, you are OBSESSED with TED CRUZ.
Wow. Lyin Ted Cruz tries to smear Trump again and you attack FReeper for reporting it?
What’s queer how Ted Cruz takes any random event and turns it into a smear of Trump. Nothing principled or conservative about him.
I agree with you that some people just don’t get it. I don’t hold Trump up as a moral standard on sexual matters, but he passes the “didn’t lie to me test” on such matters. If the Cruz allegations hold up (and there seems to be mounting details unfolding), then his hypocrisy is downright pharisaical. After Carson proved himself unable to swim in the DC shark tank, I was a Cruz supporter until he blamed the Chicago riots on Trump and took Neil Bush onto his team. That was when the mask came off for me. So now, it is not surprising to hear of more alleged bait-and-switch about the guy. I couldn’t vote for him, even if the GOPe handed him the nomination (which will never happen).
