Breaking: Cruz Negotiating With Trump for VP Spot

A high ranking Cruz campaign official has told Elect Leaders that Sen. Cruz is in negotiations with Mr. Trump to become his Vice Presidential Nominee after Rubio dropped out Tuesday. Sen. Cruz has been the most consistent performer in primaries behind Trump. They are seeing the writing on the wall and want to negotiate from a point of strength which will evaporate over time.

The official stated Mr. Trump is interested in using Sen. Cruz’s ground game in the general election, likes his appeal to the conservative base and his stance on immigration. Of the other options for VP none hold as strong of an opinion on immigration outside of Governor Jan Brewer from Arizona who is also being considered.

Senator Cruz in exchange for his support is wanting to be named to the Supreme Court if an opening occurs while Mr. Trump is president. Mr. Trump does not see this as an issue and a small price to pay to bring Sen. Cruz his fundraisers, donors and staff on board

If neither is the top of the ticket after the convention, I’d like them both to run united as a 3rd party ticket. I’d wager in that scenario, the GOPe ticket would finish an ugly third place.

And Hillary would finish first. 3rd party, either by Ben Sasse if Trump gets the nomination, or by Trump if someone else gets the nomination, can stop the GOPe ticket from winning, but Hillary will still get her 45%.

I heard Trump on the Hannity show yesterday say that splitting the vote would only elect Hillary and ruin this country for 30 years or more. (of course, a couple of minutes later he and Hannity both said that if he had the nomination "stolen" from him, they would not vote Republican - which of course would result in the same disaster than he had just predicted if GOP insiders didn't support him).

Exactly! Thanks for proving my point!

Yes, exactly.  Now is the time for a deal to be made while Cruz still can cause Trump trouble.

Losing Missouri was a heart-breaker because it was so close.

First of all, this article is bull, Cruz is not giving up and bending the knee, no other source says this, just the opposite in fact, no interest in VP (not that anyone ever claims such interest, it’s almost considered unseemly). This article reads like the same made up propaganda we’ve been hearing for months.

Anyway, those of us in the “Emperor has no clothes” camp aren’t concerned Trump would “go native” as you put it but that is merely dissembling and was never a conservative nor ever intended to govern as one if elected.

Picking someone like Gay’s itch as his running mate would be a terrible sign, sounds barely more appealing to me as McCain/Lieberman would have been and less appealing than Romney/Ryan. Cruz would be much much much more appealing, especially if Trump has a high cholesterol diet.

My assessment of people mentioned by Mr. Campbell’s chin

Rick Scott: Lightweight, barely won reelection. If he’s been doing an especially good job as Governor, I haven’t heard about it. Not destined for greater things.

Jan Brewer: Too old, safe state. Not appealing. And didn’t she betray us on something? I think you (FMDJ) called her a gutless (w)itch over it. If we’re just fishing for a woman here....none jump out at me. Fifi? She’d be good in the VP debate, but Trump called her ugly and a failure. I have to say no to the idea of a woman just for the sake of having a woman.

Rubio: Haha, that would be something. Unlike many of you Rubio is not on my evil POS list, much better choice than Scott or Brewer, this seems very unlikely though.

I’ll mention some other names

Scott Walker would be an excellent running mate for either Cruz or Trump. Not sure if he’d accept it from a man (Trump) who told dirty lies about him and mocked him.

Sessions would make sense for Trump, if he wants a conservative.

This is about as fun as picking a beverage that pairs well with moldy spam. Go Cruz.

Well, well, well... the Trumpbots on FR vowing to "never again" float the idea that Cruz would "make a good running mate/SCOTUS judge for my man Trump" lasted a whooping 4 days.

As I predicted, the "we'll NEVER AGAIN support TRAITOR Cruz for ANYTHING" talking point didn't last a week.

Your crow is served.

(P.S. I sure WISH Trump supporters were serious about "never" pushing this Trump/Cruz delusional fantasy on FR again. It would a great relief to Cruz supporters if we didn't have the hear the "Cruz needs to clear up this eligibility thing so he can get in line to shine The Donald's bootstraps" delusion posted 20 times a day.)

>> My premise is based on Blue Collar Reagan D's voting Trump in Michigan, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. <<

Your premise is based on demographics from 30 years ago. Today's RAT party is uniformly socialist and so militantly left-wing that even a 95% socialist RAT like LIEberman isn't leftist enough for them.

I can’t watch that show, it’s because Emilia Clarke is too beautiful and her voice may be one of the most desirable I’ve ever heard. :-(

The only ones making asses out of themselves were the ones who angrily insisted only four days ago that we’d “never” see a thread like this one on FR. Sorry to upset you by calling them out for their BS.

Might this be a ploy. NBC is still a question from me; and have no clue if Trump would see fit to make the Canadian Cuban attempt to verify to his satisfaction before any agreement. Amazing that Cruz has in his law locked mind breezed thru the little inconsistency and his claim he is NBC w/o explaining to US the why’s. Whatever! Ted seems to be wanting something and hope to see he is deserving and serving to take second place. At the moment this might be more Roger Stone talking rather than anyone associated with Ted Cruz.

So much has happened since last night. Roger Stone was on NewsMax saying Trump had the voter security force flying to Ohio to check out why so much confusion in the ballots there. With the great lawyers who must be on Trump’s Team, perhaps the voter fraud will be dealt a significant blow.

Another episode in this year’s primary. LOL the movie will be an Academy Award winner. :-))

To be fair, the font and graphics, etc., did require some set up work. And nicely done work for sure.

So I guess if I went through all that (yeah, good luck with that !)

I'd probably want to post more than once also

I hope he does. I’ve posted before but I’ll do it again... TedCruz’s original positions reflect my principles. Donald Trump reflects my beliefs on what it takes to defeat hard core leftists— violence, or at least the threat thereof, and humiliation and ridicule. Trump’s Hillary barking ad closes the case for me— he has the necessary guts to get in a street fight and win. But in a country of three hundred plus million, we all better agree on a strict interpretation of the Constitution, because that’s all we have in common. If we can’t agree on that, Katie bar the doors.
