Breaking: Cruz Negotiating With Trump for VP Spot
A high ranking Cruz campaign official has told Elect Leaders that Sen. Cruz is in negotiations with Mr. Trump to become his Vice Presidential Nominee after Rubio dropped out Tuesday. Sen. Cruz has been the most consistent performer in primaries behind Trump. They are seeing the writing on the wall and want to negotiate from a point of strength which will evaporate over time.
The official stated Mr. Trump is interested in using Sen. Cruzs ground game in the general election, likes his appeal to the conservative base and his stance on immigration. Of the other options for VP none hold as strong of an opinion on immigration outside of Governor Jan Brewer from Arizona who is also being considered.
Senator Cruz in exchange for his support is wanting to be named to the Supreme Court if an opening occurs while Mr. Trump is president. Mr. Trump does not see this as an issue and a small price to pay to bring Sen. Cruz his fundraisers, donors and staff on board
Cruz could exact revenge on the Turtle
If Cruz were smart he would get Donald to agree to appoint him to the Supreme Court if he gives up.
I believe the story.
The next month has some tough states for Cruz. The time to cut a deal is now.
The insane blathering of the GOP establishment about a brokered convention should have gotten Cruz’s attention.
There is a win-win solution here.
Good for the country.
Trump would listen to Cruz and Cruz would have years to develop his experience and reputation to follow Trump.
Maybe give Kasich Postmaster general or make him the new alibi a ambassador.
Really? I would think Trump is negotiating with Cruz, not the other way around. Trump has more to lose.
This is more like Reagan / Buchanan type.
Pending further confirmation, I doubt the story. We all know Trump can moonwalk backwards on anything. Can Ted?
It will give him much needed experience for a run later down the road. He is in his mid 40s and might even open the door to a USSC nomination.
Good point. What electoral votes does Cruz bring that Trump doesn’t already have?
So which one is it, Veep or SCOTUS? From the into it’s confusing.
What would the combined delegate count be?
I trust nothing I read about back room deals... when someone publicly announces fine, until then its just political theater and rumor.
Trump needs someone with the ins and outs of Congress. Someone like Newt.
I don’t believe it. Trump’s already said that Cruz can’t be on his ticket unless he gets his eligibility established via a declaratory judgment. There’ve been a couple of minor legal skirmishes on the matter but I don’t think a judge has ruled on the merits.
Does Mr. Trump like it when people speak for him?
What is this site? I have never heard of it
This from February I think.
Cruz can gain a lot of experience and influence and he can still run again in four years if Trump wins since I don’t see Trump being more than a one term President.
That’s assuming Trump wants to be President for TWO terms (I was skeptical he even wanted to be President this time around).....
TRUMP/CRUZ!!
THEN CRUZ FOR THE SUPREME COURT!!!!!
Trump should offer Cruz a chance at a SCOTUS seat. That would be my wish and Cruz would be a great conservative justice for a long time and never have to worry about being unlike-able by voters. I also think Alan Keyes would be a great pick too.
