Cruz, Rubio and Kasich criticize Trump for creating ‘environment’ for Chicago protest
The Washington Post ^ | March 11, 2015 | David Weigel

Posted on 03/11/2016 8:31:56 PM PST by lonestar67

"The responsibility for that lies with protesters, who took violence into their own hands. But in any campaign, responsibility starts at the top. Any candidate is responsible for the culture of a campaign. And when you have a campaign that disrespects the voters, when you have a campaign that affirmatively encourages violence, when you have a campaign that is facing allegations of physical violence against members of the press, you create an environment that only encourages this sort of nasty discord," Cruz said

No.

Protesters have tried to shut down Cruz and other campaigns.

It is possible to engage these radicals.

I am ashamed Calgary Ted is my Senator. I hope that is fixed in 2018.

I hope that the Bush Syndicate doesn't chose his replacement.

Cruz & Rubio must know that Move-ON.ORG is behind the so called protest tonight.
George S. is quite an organizer.
This has nothing to do with Donald Trump, it has all to do with who is ahead in the polls.
Bernie Sanders is having a great night, I would guess, just as he and George Sores planned.
But this time is different.
People are on to what is happening behind the scenes.
So watch for this to backfire on sanders and watch for Trump to go up in the polls.
Lesson:::Don't mess with the angry and feed up voters.

I agree, Trump very much created the environment for these riots.

He has repeatedly fed the rage, repeatedly refused to call for peaceful discourse. He has constantly allowed his crowds to do what they will to protesters.

I think that Donald J Trump, began with good intentions, but when the protesters began to grow in numbers he thought I will work my people into frenzies and they will take care of it. However I think the Secret Service began to get worried and refused to let him go on. Then the inexperience of Trump began to show, rather than deal with it in a constructive manner, he released the very loud, and upset crowd upon the protesters outside. It was like pouring gasoline on a fire. He either did not know it would happen, or did not care. The first says something about his experience level to do the job he is interviewing for, and the latter option says very much about his character.

I would like to head off at the pass that Trump couldn’t do anything because it was too late. Might I remind you that on the night of the MLK assassination Bobby Kennedy gave the speech in Indianapolis, and that every other major city had riots, but the city that Bobby spoke at no such thing. Being A leader, sometimes means making the hard choice, and appealing to the better parts of man. While Trump does neither, and in some cases does the exact opposite.
___________________________________________________

Your little speech basically says to surrender to the protesters. There are so many wimps and weaklings on this forum!

...it is a pretty classy group. I rather hang with conservatives than be in a mob of authoritarian nationalists.

And you still believe that Ted is in that room with you? Really?

The assorted open borders, anti-police, and pro-Islamist Leftists don’t usually bother with Cruz rallies because they do not really fear him and what he would do. Trump will bring real change to save this country. That’s why they know that Trump is the one they must stop. The same goes for the establishment Republicans. They are frantically trying to stop Trump, while starting to back to Cruz. You know a man by his enemies. This country needs a warrior right now, not another lawyer politician.

You and turncoat Cruz definitely don’t belong at a site that wouldn’t exist without the free speech that you so easily abandon.

Maybe Trump does not belong here.

Trump has been living rent-free in your head, and the heads of a LOT of FR cruzers, for the last few months ON Free Republic.

It appears as though your lot thinks he DOES belong here. :)

What's deeply disturbing about this is that this is how governments got toppled in the Mideast and Ukraine, leading to total breakdown of civilization. They had protests ( inspired by those who wanted regime change) and law abiding citizens were told not to take away their right to protest. Then it got violent and couldn't be stopped. We saw the start of that with Black Lives Matter running amuck last year. Now they're striving to make it impossible for those with different views to assemble and practice freedom of speech.

Law abiding citizens have been patient way too long. Those that want to take away all of our freedoms and economic well being were just waiting for someone who supported Trump to respond, and use that as an excuse to get violent.

Kasich, Rubio, and Cruz are clueless or so out of touch they don't lead anything near ordinary lives. Civilized people can not cede any more. It doesn't work well.

It's possible they don't know how fed up people are with the pandering to Black Lives Matter. I can't see how this ends well. That might be an inevitable outcome if the elitists are going to continue to cling to power.

I'm a bit worried at this point.

Guess what, buddy...

We’re about 20 years past due of a leader saying “go get ‘em”.

I despise Trump the man.

Trump the message and Trump the attitude and Trump the visible manifestation of the rage and betrayal many americans feel towards the ruling elites — well, lets just say that he could get even more hard core and I would like those things even more.

Here's a good one from Nolte, who nails it....

John Nolte ‏@NolteNC 2h2 hours ago North Carolina, USA For 7 years, people have felt helpless against Obama's mobs & media enablers. A vote for Trump is empowering. You can't bottle that.

I think this is a legitimate criticism by Cruz.

It seems to me Cruz will grasp for any advantage to anoint himself the new President.

Classy? More like delusional, if not intellectually dishonest.

Cruz would have looked liked the bigger man if he had wholehearted condemned the protesters instead of blaming Trump. Nobody would have noticed if he simply didn't say anything.

But to form a pig-pile on Trump, siding with the likes of Obama, BLM, Kasich, Rubio, Clinton, et al, Cruz looks like a mercenary, opportunistic vulture. And maybe he is.
