Cruz, Rubio and Kasich criticize Trump for creating ‘environment’ for Chicago protest
The Washington Post ^ | March 11, 2015 | David Weigel

Posted on 03/11/2016 8:31:56 PM PST by lonestar67

"The responsibility for that lies with protesters, who took violence into their own hands. But in any campaign, responsibility starts at the top. Any candidate is responsible for the culture of a campaign. And when you have a campaign that disrespects the voters, when you have a campaign that affirmatively encourages violence, when you have a campaign that is facing allegations of physical violence against members of the press, you create an environment that only encourages this sort of nasty discord," Cruz said

Trump rally Chicago 3/11/2016

Is anyone surprised by who the career politicians are aligning with?

Trump is absurd to encourage his supporters to engage in violent struggles at his rallies.

It is irresponsible and he needs to be smarter.

Everyone agrees that these alinsky radicals are bad apples. Getting into physical altercations at the rallies will not help the conservative cause.

Trying to spin this into an anti-Cruz moment frustrates me.

People wanted to see the exact quote from Cruz and here it is. I hope it will prevent the common tactic here of lying about what Cruz actually said.

They are all jealous of Trump’s free publicity; I’m open to any of them as the Republican candidate, but they are just weakening the November ticket by slamming Trump.

I think it makes Cruz look like a jackal. Getting in his licks wherever he can, no matter how trivial or preposterous. And the same goes for Rubio and Kasich.

Trump admits to buying politicians. Trump admits that he uses foreign guest worker programs to avoid employing Americans.

If you support Trump, you support corruption and foreign workers. Period.

Blaming the victim is not a good look for any politician. Cruz, Rubio and Kasich should be ashamed to make such a statement.

I blame Obama. Obama speaks out about violence at Trump rallies and suddenly there is massive violence at Trump rallies.

It looks coordinated to me. The community organizer has been busy again.

I was happy to see those Mexican flags there; removed any doubts about the choice American voters face. The other side certainly sees it clearly enough...

To be sure Cruz is not blaming the Trump for the Chicago thuggery. Cruz is correct pointing out that Trump rallies have been punctuated by violence that is either tacitly or expressly encouraged by Trump. Such as go get ‘em.

I think it proves Cruz is a suck up that will never speak hard truths. A damned low life if you ask me. The ONLY answer to that by any American politician should have been to scold the violent mob.

Cruz sided with the mob and tacitly told them he thought they were justified. Low down and no good of him.

Trump is the victim of this. So are his supporters. If anybody other than the protestors themselves are responsible for creating the environment for this, it’s obama. Chicago home boy.
