"Billionaires, tech CEOs and top members of the Republican establishment flew to a private island resort off the coast of Georgia this weekend for the American Enterprise Institute's annual World Forum, according to sources familiar with the secretive gathering.

The main topic at the closed-to-the-press confab? How to stop Republican front-runner Donald Trump.

Apple CEO Tim Cook, Google co-founder Larry Page, Napster creator and Facebook investor Sean Parker, and Tesla Motors and SpaceX honcho Elon Musk all attended. So did Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), political guru Karl Rove, House Speaker Paul Ryan, GOP Sens. Tom Cotton (Ark.), Cory Gardner (Colo.), Tim Scott (S.C.), Rob Portman (Ohio) and Ben Sasse (Neb.), who recently made news by saying he "cannot support Donald Trump."

Maybe it is as simple as the desire of a sociopath to enjoy seeing his victim suffer by participating in his own misery, not JUST make them suffer but be able to feel good about themselves afterwards. (Trivial example: if a worker is told to train his own replacement or be fired immediately, then he is being forced to participate in something undesirable even if not evil.)

This is the same sociopathic mindset that had the original Obamacare bill have a provision that every person's monthly insurance bill would be required to have a separate line paying $1 to be given to abortion providers like Planned Parenthood.

The idea in all such cases is to force you to be complicit in evil. That's what they really enjoy!

If Trump wins the nomination, he's going to need Cruz's supporters to win the General Election. If you want their support I'd advise that you stop treating them like they're too stupid to recognize a fallacy of false dilemma.

No, but it is nearby, it’s part of the same coastal island group.

I find it mildly interesting that the article doesn’t name the resort this meeting was at. It’s The Cloister, and it’s on Sea Island, which is adjacent to the much larger Saint Simon’s Island. Access requires use of two bridges, one from the mainland to SSI, then a smaller one from SSI to Sea Island.

There was a G8 summit there a few years ago. One of the pluses was that access for protester control was easily controlled, and additionally the locals aren’t naturally friendly to the protester class.
