From Michigan to Louisiana to California on Friday, rank-and-file Republicans expressed mystification, dismissal and contempt regarding the instructions that their partys most high-profile leaders were urgently handing down to them: Reject and defeat Donald J. Trump.
Their angry reactions, in the 24 hours since Mitt Romney and John McCain urged millions of voters to cooperate in a grand strategy to undermine Mr. Trumps candidacy, have captured the seemingly inexorable force of a movement that still puzzles the Republican elite and now threatens to unravel the party they hold dear.
In interviews, even lifelong Republicans who cast a ballot for Mr. Romney four years ago rebelled against his message and plan. I personally am disgusted by it I think its disgraceful, said Lola Butler, 71, a retiree from Mandeville, La., who voted for Mr. Romney in 2012. Youre telling me who to vote for and who not to vote for? Please.

Electing Trump would be like marrying him after signing a pre-nup that says you get nothing if he decides to drop you, which he will.
“He frames every single sentence as if it were the most important thing ever uttered in the history of man.”
Well said. Gets very tedious. He acts like he is addressing a jury, he pauses between each sentence a bit too long, and acts like he is going to make the world tremble with the truth he is about to reveal. And then he uses that smirky voice.
“You are killing the country.”
You??
It is Congressional Republicans who are doing that. They are the ones allowing Obama to run loose, and condemning anyone who wants to stop him.
Not to mention that every other thing he says is a LIE!
Lyin Ted. Has no cred.
“a movement that still puzzles the Republican elite”
Very sad that the elite are so dense. They still don’t understand that WE HATE THEM! What the hell do people have to do to make them get it?
“FOAD GOPe”
I had to Google FOAD. I totally agree with you.
“He even claimed to have won Minnesota”
He’s like Al Gore — lies when he doesn’t even “have to”. Pathological. Good thing he’s not Pinocchio.
I never heard anyone so in love with the sound of his own “voice.”
I don’t know which is worse, listening to Cruz or Obama. I get the same visceral reaction every time I hear both of them. Wherever did Cruz pick up that cadence? I know his father claims to be a minister, so maybe that’s it. (I think Cruz’ dad is a preacher the same way Rev. Al and Jesse Jackson are. Not ordained scam artists.)
Just sent an email.
“Joe (who knows Romney) said he has no doubt it is jealousy of Trump.”
“Jealousy” was the first thing that popped into my mind.
Some day you’ll thank us. We won’t gloat.
Does that mean it doesn't bug you that they're trying to pull a "Thad Cochran" on the whole Nation?
“You look at that debate last night, Romney’s niece was the leader of that mess, and the Fox News Moderators were all in on it...”
The debate was a Fox News event.
Fox News V.P. is Bill Sammon.
Bill Sammons job is to write debate questions.
Bill Sammons daughter, Brooke Sammon, is a senior executive for the Rubio campaign National Press Secretary.
Great info. Rubio is just a younger version of Romney, McCain, McConell, Linda etal.
I’m doing it to spite you and all the other self righteous pricks scolding others for their vote or support. It’s my way of saying “f you”. Cheers.
Before you get too indignant, I’ve seen Trump use the same gesturing about other people as well who are not disabled.
Trump is an equal opportunity mocker.
I spent some time with a relative yesterday. He had voted Cruz in the primary on Tuesday, although he said Cruz was wearing real thin, real fast. After Romney’s backstab speech & the latest debate, his next vote, in November, will be for Trump.
He also had some interesting comments. He has been in business for himself for 25 years. He said that the more he listens to Cruz/Rubio, the more apparent it becomes that they don’t have a clue how life is in the ‘real world’ of business and it is increasingly clear to him that Trump does.
How dare these peasants question their Uniparty leaders.
Crapping on the base doesn’t look like such a great strategy in retrospect.
Good for him he’s wising up. I think most people are. The tax plan is crucial to reviving our economy and Trump’s coupled with rolling back the regulations will be the best.
