That was THE bombshell of the night. Post debate interview Cruz said he'd endorse Rubio (open borders, Scamnesty, establishment boy toy) over Trump.
Obviously a deal what cut (promotion at Goldman Sachs for Cruz's wife likely included) where Rubio and Cruz got together pre-debate to bash Trump. They'll endorse each other if they lose their home states.
Rubio vs. Trump is the lesser of two evils. They’ve both been on board with amnesty and have now flip-flopped. But Rubio has never been pro-choice, so that’s a point to him over Trump.
“Your candidate did that to himself tonight by endorsing Rubio. It was political suicide.”
Get a grip on reality. Cruz endorsed himself, no one else. Words have meanings. If you are a billionaire playboy who has lived his entire life in an echo chamber, then you may be free to take some liberties with the meanings and nuances of words AND get away with it.
But on an open forum where logic and reason prevail in a debate, attempting to appropriate words to mean whatever you want them to mean is really just lying.
So stop lying. Cruz did NOT endorse Rubio.
I remember when I first found out that he was the guy who Rush had praised so much for so long. Him??! ?
I can honestly say I was stunned, because by then I had experience with Levin posting here at FR, and being able to see how he interacted with FReepers who disagreed with or challenged him. It was not pretty-the guy was a thin-skinned bully, in my opinion.
His comments on constitutional law often did not only NOT agree with mine, but often did not agree with recognized experts who seemed more knowledgeable than him, by far.
I don’t know if Rush still relies on him for advice or not—but I tend to doubt it, because Rush isn’t as radical and militant as he was for several years.

I watched that debate and expected fireworks.
Well, the truth is contained in that debate.
Cruz and Rubio got whacked pretty hard. They had nothing.
If globalist means you’re not going to charge me a tax because I want to buy the best product available in the world, then call me a globalist.
Trump and Sanders are the most socialist, big government, central-planning, tax-hikers in this race. Screw them and their desire to steal away my economic freedom.
We have been telling you all along we will not vote for Trump under any circumstances.
We will not need your vote nor you and your fellow losers to win this November.
One of the historic truisms in the past several election cycles is the Cruz Coalition, as currently assembled, is the first to stay home when their candidate does not win. The socially-minded voter will never vote for a populist fiscal conservative/socially moderate candidate. Cruz voters, and their advocates, are emotionally driven by social issues. Hence they yell a lot (See Mark Levin) and only respond well to others who are inside their echo-chamber.
Consequently neither Rubio nor Trump will try to gain/court Cruz voters. Why should they; the narrow-minded group will never vote for them, if they vote at all.
This non-voting truism is why the GOPe ignore the Cruz-like factions completely; because rarely will the GOPe be influenced by them. When Cruz Clan get angry and do not get their way they do not vote.
The modern way to deal with that faction is to make them angry, and they leave. Example: Questioning eligibility sets them off easily and they lose control. They might even invite another sketchy character, Glenn Beck, to help showcase their entrenched ideological moonbattery.) See how easy that is? More exposure to the crazy = less votes in crazy camp.
Both Trump and Rubio will most likely ignore Cruz, as neither stands to benefit much.

Rubio and Cruz had a huge list of Trump’s real-world failures, lies and flip-flops and Trump had virtually nothing of substance to defend himself with.
