Shouts of ‘liar’ are taking their toll on Ted Cruz’s campaign
MSN News ^ | FEB. 24, 2016 | Katie Zezima

Ted Cruz's presidential bid is in turmoil after repeated allegations of unsavory campaign tactics by his Republican rivals, leading some key supporters to call for a shake-up in the candidate's message and strategy a week ahead of the crucial Super Tuesday primaries.

Aides and allies of the insurgent senator from Texas acknowledged in interviews this week that the campaign has been damaged by attacks on Cruz's integrity from Donald Trump and Marco Rubio. They have pointed to a series of questionable tactics by the Cruz camp, including calls to voters suggesting that candidate Ben Carson was dropping out and the sharing of an inaccurate video suggesting Rubio had disparaged the Bible.

Senator Cruz is the most honest and honorable candidate that I have seen in a while.

***************

That may well be. But ultimately his campaign lies at his feet. His choice of
campaign managers, direction, policy, etc all end at his door step, not theirs.
So what does that say about his organizational, management and political ability skills?

Cruz moves from position to position frequently. Maybe that is good to accumulate
skills, knowledge, etc but so far it apparently hasn’t helped him that much. It will
be interesting to see if he runs for the Senate when this term is up. My guess is no.

What a great point! If Cruz can’t handle the heat now it’s gonna be a thousand times worse on him in the fall. He’s not ready for prime time yet.

The size of the win by Trump in South Carolina was caused by the media. Lying and deliberate misquoting what the Pope Francis said and inserting Trumps name into it. Which would require a Trump response.

It was that Trump reply that resounded big time with the evangelists. Avoiding citing this does not mean it did not happen or that the media did not do it.

Better a crony capitalist than either a Uniparty member or a crony Communist.

Cruz has *zero* chance of winning. And I'd rather have half a loaf (Trump) then zero, whether from being sold out (Boehner/Ryan, McCuckell), (Rubio), or from a self-preening "moral victory" where I vote "correctly" but lose (Paul, Cruz, Carson).

Incidentally -- it appears you are failing to consider the long-term effects of your choice. Were the GOP to go with Cruz (and lose in a landslide, as he is doing now) we would forever cement in place the lie that "conservatives can never win, now get in line with the GOPe". Trump is actively overcoming the lies: he is winning among both women and Hispanics, the two key demographic groups that the GOP was "pretending" to court by continually running designated losers and squishes.

Why is it that a disproportionate share of ardent Cruz supporters on FR, all seem to come from Texas? What is it about that state that generates xenophobia towards the rest of the country?

some good?

what has any politician done good for America in the last 100 years ? not a damn thing but the opposite . What politicians and the media have done is grow government , let in 3rd world socialist immigrants, let illegals in , give unfair trade advantages to China and Asian countries etc. that's all destructive actions to America that politicians have done to America in the last 100 years.

Trump will do some good:
1..Trump will build the wall. the first really pro-American substantial action in a long time. 2. Fair trade deals with China. Just those 2 are enough to help America big time.I Have more but no time right now.

Cruz is NOT establishment! Never has been. That’s why the establishment prefers Trump to him. The “E” knows Ted will do precisely what he says.

This is why I’m having trouble committing to vote for Trump if he is the nominee. Every time he screams, “liar” he is lying.

Trump is running a sleezy campaign so that he can avoid discussing issues. He is unstable.

Once again, I may have to hold my nose when I vote. At least I can take satisfaction in knowing I was not to blame. Yawn.

“When did beandog ever say he would vote for Hillary? Glad you had a chance to vent though.

So humor me: what positions is Trump taking that lead you to believe he is a constitutional conservative? “

Since beandog said he could never vote for Trump, and it sure looks like Trump is going to be our nominee, that only leaves one option (if he’s going to vote at all), and that’s Hillary.

I don’t have the slightest desire to argue with you about whether Trump is “a constitutional conservative.” I don’t need some stupid check-list to decide what candidate is conservative enough for ME.

Corker, ttp, Goldman. His accomplishments? I say leave him in the senate or his seat could go to a Democrat. He will do better in the Senate with a Republican president. Same for that other ineligible dancer Rubio.

It is the old adage. “tell a lie long enough and it becomes your truth”.

I have plenty of ammo and antipathy for my fellow Americans for what they have done to this country. We will reap what we have sown.

Yep. Someone screams it enough times, the gullible start believing it.

----

Let's be honest - Cruz was called a liar by Dr Carson first. A man who may be a bad candidate but a sincere Christian. Ignore Trump's liar charge. Marco Rubio called Cruz a liar and Cruz eventually fired a staffer over this later on.

Demagoguery can be effective.

Still....

National polls show Cruz beating Trump by 15% in a head-to-head matchup.

So plenty of decent Americans see through Trump’s and Rubio’s lies.

But the GOPe has thrown in with Trump, funding Rubio and preventing a Cruz/Trump race.

Your Honor, I rest my case. Given an opportunity to engage in discourse, the typical Trumpeteer says "Screw You!" lol

I hope you find someplace that you can love more than America and enjoy those last days. I will stay here and fight with patriots to Make America Great Again. If could tolerate Carter, Clinton, and the vile Obama, I can fight on. God Bless America.

A sincere Christian? Why is he still in the race other than to play the victim?
