In the second part of an interview with David Brody of CBN, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said he thinks the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court case that ushered in an era of 48 million abortions was âwrongly decided.â Trump said he would appoint âvery good judgesâ who would ultimately âchange itâ but he opposed roe without specifically saying it should be overturned.
âItâs been very strongly decided but it can be changed,â Trump told Brody. âThings are put there and theyâre passed but they can be unpassed with time but itâs going to take time because you have a lot of judges to go.â
This part of the interview with CBN follows a portion that saw Trump commit for the first time to signing a bill to defend the Planned Parenthood abortion business â though the candidate said he still thinks Planned Parenthood does some good things.
Hereâs the partial transcript and video of the interview:
David Brody: âRoe V. Wade: do you think it should be overturned and would you put Supreme Court Justices or would you look at Supreme Court Justices that felt that way.â
Donald Trump: âI will put people on that are going to be very very good and constitutionalists and theyâre going to do a good job but itâs going to take a long time.â (Partial Transcription)
David Brody: âBut beyond judges, do you believe Roe V. Wade was wrongly decided back in the day, back in 1973?â
Donald Trump: âWell I do. Itâs been very strongly decided but it can be changed. Things are put there and theyâre passed but they can be unpassed with time but itâs going to take time because you have a lot of judges to go.â
Previously, Trump issued an op-ed condemning Roe v. Wade but stopped short of saying it should be reversed.
Well he just threw out the biggest bone we’ve EVER seen a presidential hopeful throw out.
He really is trying to top Cruz with his “100% pro-life” profession.
We could use more of this kind of competition between the two.

Trump has taken the position of being pro-life. Period!
The truth of the matter is...Roe vs Wade should never have happened. Murder is murder.
I agree. I could care a LOT less about the Supreme Court. SC nominations matter a great deal to me.
Cruz really is a talker and not a doer.
Thank you for expressing your opinion. I don't agree with it.
Trump is a wheeler-dealer, not a leader. That, he has in common with Mitch McConnell.
Oh you are Cruz. How funny. You know you took my sentence and made it as bad as you can. You know I was talking about Cruz’s work on the Supreme Court. But if you must be Cruz then there you go. No surprise.
Thank you for referencing that article Kazan. Please bear in mind that the following critique is directed at the article and not at you.
While I admire Trumps good conservative intentions with respect to overturning the Supreme Courts state sovereignty-ignoring ruling concerning abortion, patriots need to keep in mind the following.
Patriots need to support the next conservative president by also electing a new, state sovereignty-respecting Congress that will be willing to impeach and remove state sovereignty-ignoring, pro-abortion activist justices from the bench.
If he wheels the right deals, then he’s great. A lot of this is going to depend on who else steps up to this plate. This didn’t happen in a vacuum, I bet. Someone discussed it with Donald. Someone who might stand to be nominated for sainthood, proverbially speaking.
Stick your finger in the air today and this is what you get. The real question is who will be in the White House.....and that is the problem. He is all over the place with what he supposedly stands for today compared to yesterday. Does this guy have any real stances? What is truth with this guy?
Lol two Corinthians ping.
I have a bridge to sell to anyone who believes this.
One of the judges (Diane Sykes) Trump mentioned as a possible SCOTUS appointee has a questionable history with life:

I wouldn’t trust Trump on anything he says about anything.
I do not.
I don't either!
I am convinced the only way we end abortion is to make a world where no one wants one. The first step is a thriving economy. I don’t think Trump will abandon us but more importantly I think legislators won’t act as needed to get anything to trump.
Yeah that's the ticket!
No, Cruz has forgotten that pro-life has to be holistic.
You can’t make that go away by filthing Donald Trump.
We should have no room for idols around here.
A holistic pro-life view would address the issues which aren’t even economic but spiritual.
Don't expect it to rain sodie water on the Big Rock Candy Mountain.
They are spit and the people he respects least are the target. It's tragic.
