When Donald Trump heard that Ted Cruz had taken out a loan from Goldman Sachs (against his own investments, by the way), he lashed out at his rival. The loan proved that Cruz was owned by the banks! He could not be trusted! He'd just do Goldman's bidding!
Oh my, how terrible! Yes, Cruz was clearly a crony of the big banks.
This criticism caused the Cruz campaign to study Trump's own finances a bit. What they've discovered is downright shocking:
Republican presidential hopeful Ted Cruz on Sunday said GOP front-runner Donald Trump owes âhundreds of millions or even billionsâ in unpaid loans. âIf you look at his financial disclosure, he owes at least $480 million right now, and it could be billions,â Cruz said on âFox News Sunday.â Cruz then lashed out at Trump for criticizing him for taking out a one million dollar loan:
He knows this loan story is complete nonsense. Itâs also the height of chutzpah for someone who owes hundreds of millions of dollars, if not billions of dollars, to attack Heidi and me because we put our life savings into running for Senate. And that brings me to The Donald's character. This man is a pathological liar with no moral compass whatsoever. Time and again, he accuses his rivals of doing something he -- Trump -- himself is guilty of it. See also his accusation that evangelical leader Bob Vander Plaats demanded $100,000 to speak at a rally in Iowa, with the facts proving that Trump demanded that incredibly amount and got it.

Ted has a couple of issues that he could be better on for sure. Your boy has flipped on EVERY major Republican party plank, some as recently as last year just to get the nod.
Registered Democrats that grew up in Manhattan have hard habits to break.
Trump's net worth is roughly equal to only one year of his net income? It ought to be some significant multiple thereof. Either the Donald is worth a lot MORE than he's claiming (which would be an unusual claim for him), or he's hugely underachieving (which I doubt), or he's a minority owner of Trump Enterprises (so his wealth is a multiple of some fraction of your $9.5B), or something's wrong with your statement. Did you mean to say it has an annual cash flow of $9.5B rather than 'annual income?'

That's not a good analogy for what Cruz did. He had the assets, but the interest on the loan was cheaper than the costs involved with selling the stock (and paying the penalties, if it was a retirement account, which seems likely.)
No, you’re a condescending cultist who thinks by using Reagan in your username that your opinion is somehow more valuable.
Wrong.
We all know Trump isn’t perfect. But we also know that Ceuz is just more business as usual - and he proves it repeatedly.
I prefer Cruz, but I'm fine with Trump.
I'm just sick of all the weenies making up weenie lies and acting like they're smart.
Cruz is against Amnesty. Build the wall, stop the flow, deport who you can as soon as you can, take the rest off government assistance post haste.
That's his stance. He killed the Gang of Eight bill with Sessions.
It's a problem that's not easily solved for sure. But he's not for touch back like Trump so good enough for me.
The money Trump owes is what you and I call a mortgage.
If he has assets worth $20 billion and he owes $10 billion, what do we call the difference?
Net worth, perhaps?
If you would be so kind as to list his faults, we'll frame it as you'll be the first one.
We will see how it plays out.
Best of luck to you and your candidate.
We all should know we aren’t changing anyone’s minds in here, and I wish we could stick to facts.
The word “may” is conjecture.
Cheers.
Are you getting it now???
I get that you're lying....just like your hero Trump lies. But hey, anything to win the deal....right?
Van der Galien has an unimpeachable source that reports Trump’s loans to be...exactly to the penny, to be anywhere from - get this - exactly $M100’s to even $B’s.
“Donald Trump owes ââ¬Åhundreds of millions or even billionsââ¬Â in unpaid loans.”
I didn’t say they weren’t visible, I said he did not disclose it as required, claiming an oversight.
Um, no. A margin loan, which is what Cruz had, is backed by the assets in his investments in his account. There MUST be assets for such a loan. You, or me, or him ... or anyone ... would not even have to go sit in front of a loan officer to arrange for such a loan.
Based on what you have posted, perhaps you are the one that has no experience in such matters, not Cruz.
Let me google that for you. http://lmgtfy.com/?q=margin+loan
Did Trump do it like Cruz by not reporting it to the Federal Election Commission?

This discussion reminds me how much I’ve come to absolutely despise Trump followers. Despicable people.
