Trump: If we're attacked, we'll 'beat the s--t out of them'
The Hill ^ | February 2, 2016 | Rebecca Savransky

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump says America will be glad if he's the president next time the nation is attacked.

"If we are attacked, somebody attacks us, wouldn't you rather have Trump as president if we're attacked?" he said at a rally in Milford, N.H. "We'll beat the shit out of them."

He added that America needs to stop "playing games."

"We've become the policemen to the entire world," he said. "We take care of the world. They pay us peanuts."

Here’s the tweet;

https://twitter.com/CNN/status/694326400006762496

Go to post 16 and see what the Cruz team said. What they said wasn’t what the tweet said. There is no way to logically or coherently make the case what the Cruz team said is what the tweet said.

Own it.

I'm conflicted...

Is Trump a narcissist with megalomaniac tendencies, or

a megalomaniac with narcissistic tendencies???

If Ted did nothing wrong why apologize?

Ah, the goalposts have just been moved. We have now shifted from 'Cruz lied' to 'Cruz did something wrong' (which he has already acknowledged and apologized for).

Some folks here think Cruz personally handles every minute detail of his campaign effort.

True he's ultimately responsible but to call him a 'dirty trickster' because someone flagged precinct captains on a relevant news item (then neglected to flow up after it was clarified) is a little bit harsh.

Trump saying “beat the shit out of them” will be number 26 on the list of things that will “definitely end Trump’s campaign”

Do you really think it’s smart to hand out examples of status quo gutter politics ammunition to your opponents??

It’s not a smart move. I thought Cruz was above this kind o thing. Interesting the candidate many would expect to do it, Trump, didn’t do it. And the candidate many are calling such a straight arrow thoroughbred constitutional conservative did do it.

That is not the only tweet that came out about it. But if you watch the video as well, they talk about how strange it is for Carson to be announcing that he was going home and to DC, and that Carson had already said he would be making an announcement later that evening whether the caucuses were finished or not. So it was not unreasonable to assume Carson was going to announce he was suspending his campaign before going home. It was wrong, but not unreasonable.

Equivocation.

Read posts 37 and 41. Then stop equivocating.

Yeah all assumptions and speculation. Remember what the word assume breaks down into. It’s never smart to base any sort of rational conclusion on assumptions and speculation. You’d think Team Cruz would know that.

How long will it take for either Cruz or Rubio to use the F-bomb? Or will it be Jeb?

Long live the death of PC!

I don’t know. I would guess the first one. He does seem to love power, but I think he loves his fantastic self more than power. From my perspective, he loves to win because he sees himself as great and winning proves it to others. But if he does not win he will easily refocus on his own greatness in another less powerful arena. I don’t think he will feel bad about it at all. His mutability in that case is an asset. His mutability in politics is what makes me distrust him. He’s like an adjustable rate mortgage during a wildly up and down economic time where interest rates are swinging all over the map. Or like a contractor who doesn’t give you a real bid but expects you to sign a contract where he will own your house if you do not pay. Then the bill ends up being huge and you can’t pay. So he gets your house.

Yeah. He out conned the master con man.

It’s ok for Trump to be a slick con artist, but not Ted?

I am not commenting on the merits. I posted at the time I didn’t like it. I am commenting on your effectiveness as an analyst. It changed nothing except maybe to increase turnout.

I think that story about Carson once trying to hit his mother in the HEAD with a shovel over what he was to wear worked enough to last the campaign. It gave me the cold chills. He is a nice guy but he was already hurting himself with his sleepy demeanor at the debates.

That may have come out too close to the caucuses to sink in in time.
