Conservative talk radio host Mark Levin said that Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump was similar to an establishment Republican compromiser after the real estate mogul pledged earlier to work closely with Democratic leaders in Congress.
"You might as well vote for Jeb Bush," Levin said. "I bet he would get along with Harry Reid or Nancy Pelosi or Chuck Schumer. Lindsey Graham gets along with them great. Marco Rubio got along with them great."
In an interview Tuesday on MSNBC's Morning Joe, Trump said, "I've always had a good relationship with Nancy Pelosi. I've never had a problem. Reid will be gone." He added, "I was always very good with Schumer. I was close to Schumer in many ways. It's important that you get along."
While speaking well of House Minority Leader Pelosi of California, the likely next Democratic Senate Leader Schumer of New York and retiring Senate Democratic leader Reid of Nevada, Trump called his Republican primary opponent Texas Sen. Ted Cruz "nasty."
"He just talks up Reid. He just talks up Pelosi. He just talks up Schumer and he trashes the hell out of the most conservative member of the United States Senate," Levin said.
"It's not a matter of getting along with people and cutting deals," Levin said. "It's a matter of moving the country, persuading the country, persuading the Republican party to follow you," Levin continued. "That's what a statesman does. That's what Churchill did. That's what Thatcher did. That's what Reagan did. That's what you have to do, or you might as well vote for Jeb Bush. I bet he would get along with Harry Reid or Nancy Pelosi or Chuck Schumer. Lindsey Graham gets along with them great. Marco Rubio got along with them great. For some people this is perfectly fine. I'm troubled by it."
I no longer listen to Levin, I no longer watch Faux News.
They have made enough money off me paying attention to them.
Of course they would, because none of them are the type of man Donald Trump is. Any rational person can look on TV and watch as Trump beats the hell out of the media and dominates everywhere he goes. But only a nasty Cruz-bot-- the same group of people who are maligning FR on another website and frothing at the mouth as if Trump is Hitler (and even making those comparisons)-- can look at all of that and interpret Trump as being a mush.
But if Cruz said it, I guarantee, there would be reason to fear, because Cruz has never won a single battle he's gotten into. Even the much vaunted gang of eight fight is merely spun as a victory, even though the bill passed the senate and Cruz's amendments failed. If anything, Cruz's best victory is the TPA fight, since he voted against amendments that would have made it better and campaigned with Paul Ryan to get it approved.
Itâs just that most people wonât listen because all they care about is THE WALL!
____________
I love me some WALL.
Trump’s inner Democrat is coming out a little early for good strategy. It seems to me he’s been outed a bit early. And he is really proving he’s a wimp when he won’t go to a debate because he might have to answer questions about his weird biography and outlandish behavior. And it’s not like they’re asking him about his public affair with Marla Maples while he was still married to his first wife, nor does anyone ask him about his third wives nude photos. They’re asking questions about his crass behavior, but they’re not asking him about his more sordid, New York values that he’s manifested during his life as an extravagant.
No, you don't. Refuse to pay your property taxes King's Rent for 3 or 4 years, THEN tell us who owns "your" property.
I got a property tax bill for $2.54 once.
If I would have flipped them off - guess who would have sold THEIR $25,000 property to settle the $2.54 debt?
Taxpeasants who pretend to "own property" are amusing, at best.
?
Trump decided to make more headlines ahead of the debate, so he took an unprovoked swing at Meygan Kelly.
He got his press. He got his headlines.
He can dish it out but he can't take it.
Even his fans voted for him to go.
He's a prima donna.
And let "the good ones" back in.
You must think that everyone who is a radio commentator is required to support Trump in order to comment on his inner-Democrat coming out.
I cannot believe that you are unaware of the machinations against Trump (see for example Breitbart.com) which details Fox teaming up with *Google* (!!!) and bringing in a Muslim activist from YouTube to compare Trump to Hitler.
Seriously -- for what is supposedly a major news organization to call in someone to practice a Godwin's Law attack, to the far-and-away front runner for the GOP nomination? Seriously?
They like to say "fair and balanced" but they had Michael Moore on today -- *the* Michael Moore, who paraded around with the "We are All Muslims" sign.
Nobody but NOBODY needs that much ballast...
I remember Rush saying he wouldn't mind playing golf with Mr Clinton. That doesn't mean their close friends or agree with anything. I'm sure Mr Clinton would be a good story teller and easy to get along with as long as they don't have to agree on anything.
I agree with TRUMP. Levin is unstable and noisy.
More like a picket fence with a big gate in it!!!
Trump last donated to Schumer directly in 2010, though he had made donations ranging from $250 to $2,000 since 1996.
________________________
I posted all of Trumps campaign contributions within the last 24 hours. Most of these contributions are what we refer to in fundraising as “go away” money. Trump has donated from 1997 to present, $1.3 million to over 350 recipients.
Mr Ted Cruz on the other hand, has taken 13 million from one guy...that is some serious influence peddling, right there. See the difference?
O ye of little faith. The Donald will get along with them because it will be they who will be eating out of his hand...
Oh I don’t think I said disinterested. For example, Beck and Levin are not disinterested...
Levin has claimed he is objective==not endorsing right away—he won’t say exactly when he will endorse, but whatever...
Bottom line is he is not objective==also found it entertaining that Glenn Beck broke the Levin story—just a big Trump pile-on by Cruz-supporting talking heads.
Yeah right. Ted didn’t understand the 14th Amendment, nor does he not understand that he isn’t a natural born citizen. Give it up - Cruz is a fraud. There -I said it.
No, but radio commentators shouldn't lie to their audience while constantly propagandizing them against a candidate. Levin should come clean and admit who he supports. But Levin is a fraud and a crook. Bottom line: it comes down to money with him, which is why he agrees to be sponsored by companies like Goldline who have been forced to pay out millions in settlements over selling overpriced European coins to his unsuspecting audience. He lies to his audience, telling them Goldline is "transparent" and a great service, then they go to Goldline and end up paying 600 700 or 800 dollars for coins that only cost 200 or 300 anywhere else.
Levin is a crook and a fraud, and when I recently heard this about him from another Freeper, I realized right then and there that Levin's behavior is dictated by money.
I know you are not into heroics, but Giuliani would endorse TRUMP over Cruz. Said Cruz will cost Republicans the entire NE, from Pennsylvania upward, and lose the West from California to Oregon, that TRUMP will get the Reagan Democrats and that he knows a black Labor guy, bit Democrat, in NYC, who said he was voting TRUMP and that he will get a surprising number of the black vote, and the Latino vote.
This is stuff Republicans now days can only dream of.
After a lifetime of being a New York Liberal, it gets pretty hard to keep up the Iowa Hawkeye Conservative facade. Every day that goes by he blurts out something new that shows his true colors.
I'm going to assume you didn't watch it. here it's only 2:10 seconds:
Donald Trump and Megyn Kelly go back and forth at the Fox News GOP debate
