Conservative talk radio host Mark Levin said that Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump was similar to an establishment Republican compromiser after the real estate mogul pledged earlier to work closely with Democratic leaders in Congress.
"You might as well vote for Jeb Bush," Levin said. "I bet he would get along with Harry Reid or Nancy Pelosi or Chuck Schumer. Lindsey Graham gets along with them great. Marco Rubio got along with them great."
In an interview Tuesday on MSNBC's Morning Joe, Trump said, "I've always had a good relationship with Nancy Pelosi. I've never had a problem. Reid will be gone." He added, "I was always very good with Schumer. I was close to Schumer in many ways. It's important that you get along."
While speaking well of House Minority Leader Pelosi of California, the likely next Democratic Senate Leader Schumer of New York and retiring Senate Democratic leader Reid of Nevada, Trump called his Republican primary opponent Texas Sen. Ted Cruz "nasty."
"He just talks up Reid. He just talks up Pelosi. He just talks up Schumer and he trashes the hell out of the most conservative member of the United States Senate," Levin said.
"It's not a matter of getting along with people and cutting deals," Levin said. "It's a matter of moving the country, persuading the country, persuading the Republican party to follow you," Levin continued. "That's what a statesman does. That's what Churchill did. That's what Thatcher did. That's what Reagan did. That's what you have to do, or you might as well vote for Jeb Bush. I bet he would get along with Harry Reid or Nancy Pelosi or Chuck Schumer. Lindsey Graham gets along with them great. Marco Rubio got along with them great. For some people this is perfectly fine. I'm troubled by it."
Under the pressure of being exposed Levin blows up. Who could have seen that coming?

We also would never have heard any political candidate come out against political correctness, and certainly wouldn’t have heard the GOP elite exposed as RAT-lite (Palin’s speech). We would also have NEVER seen a leading candidate with the stones to walk out of a debate they felt was biased.
Remember the image of Newt and Nancy sittin' knee to knee...? The taunt was posted a dozen times a day when Newt was running. Likewise his marital history was dissected and clucked over. Yet now we suspend critical thinking for the promise of a wall.
If it's Trump v. Clinton, I'll vote for him, but I'm convinced that the ballot box has already proven a failure. And don't look now but it's too late for the wall.

So many of my idols have fallen in the light of exposure to Donald Trump. Cal Thomas, Megyn Kelly, Britt Hume, Charles Krauthammer, Katy Pavlich, Fox News., and now Mark Levin. Trump's light shines in dark places and what was a safe hidey hole is no longer.
These debates are a joke...for any network. Sort of like watching the Academy Awards. All hype and glitter with no substance. Both should be turned off. (I do).
Someone needs to send Levin a biography of Judah P. Benjamin.
The internecine nasty people eating from the trough inside the Beltway IS the problem— just as Reagan said, and fought against. Not so quick to relegate Levin to the Beck column, as he has been studiously distancing himself (as has Rush) from Beck’s melting down on the air.
The effort with a Convention of the States, utilizing the Constitution to challenge this cabal in DC— there is great merit there- to separate the good people of the US from these rip-off artists. Levin’s Landmark Legal Foundation has done a great deal to expose these POLY-ticks as they resemble Ancient Rome in their disgusting greed. It will be the warriors, Veterans and the dwindling producing class (farmers, inventors, factory owners, small business people) who will shut these oligarch corporatists down. Levin has many good points in separating what people “SAY” vs. what they will “DO”— and that includes trump.

Renaissance’s use of basket options was the subject of a U.S. Senate hearing in 2014. According to the panel’s report, Renaissance probably avoided more than $6 billion in U.S. income taxes over 14 years through transactions with Barclays Plc and Deutsche Bank AG.

ON OCT. 5, 2009, Gov. Perry and three aides boarded a private jet in Austin and flew to Biloxi, Mississippi. The jet belonged to Toby Neugebauer, an oil and gas investor. (As required by law, Perry’s campaign would report the $6,250 plane flight from Neugebauer as an “in-kind†campaign contribution.) Neugebauer and his wife have long supported Perry, donating more than $110,000 to him, according to Texans for Public Justice. Neugebauer may have been supporting Perry because he liked his ideological bent. But he also has a financial interest in backing the governor.
Neugebauer is a managing partner at Quantum Energy Partners, a Houston private equity firm that has invested millions in energy production in Texas. The firm invested heavily in the controversial natural gas drilling in North Texas’ Barnett Shale formation. The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality—the state’s regulatory agency, whose leaders Perry appoints—regulates drilling in the Barnett shale.
When they boarded Neugebauer’s jet last October, Perry and his aides were traveling to Biloxi for a meeting of the Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission, a governmental body made up of officials from energy-producing states. The commission advises states on energy production and regulatory policies. Perry addressed the commission as its incoming chairman for 2010—the first Texas governor to lead the commission since Mark White in 1985. In his speech, Perry emphasized the need for oil and natural gas production. “I believe that anyone discussing energy in our nation and world must begin by acknowledging the essential role that oil and gas have played throughout our history and the reality that they must continue as fundamental elements of our energy portfolio,†Perry said, according to Oil and Gas Journal, an industry publication.
As I keep saying, this is not philanthropy and it is well beyond the FEC limits. None of these Super Pac donors are using their money to build a Children’s Hospital. It is serious money and they are trying to influence the election for very specific reasons.

You mean Cruz and his vote for the Obama agenda — TPA, Corker bill, two bills Obama salivated over? Yep, that is standing on principle, I tell you. Cruz stood rock solid with Obama as Obama literally fought for the United States. He does it all the time.
As far as deals are concerned, people complain about that as if it is foreign to American history. They have all of a sudden got so pure, the idea is repugnant to them. Remember the three-fifths compromise? That was a deal made by our Founders to get the Constitution adopted. Then you have other famous compromises, deals, such as The Missouri Compromise, The Compromise of 1850, the Compromise of 1877, and that is just a start.
The fundamental difference between the United States of America and all of the other governments in the history of the world is the Founding Fathers' focus on process over personal. Before the FF, government was considered to be a function of the character of the ruler. Good states had good kings. Bad states were bad because they had bad kings. The focus of all politics was to find the "good" king.
The FF rejected this idea. They believed that all men were flawed and none could be trusted with power. That what made "good" government possible was the structure of the government itself, and the principles behind the laws, not the men carrying them out. Yet here you are, like a modern Loyalist, asserting that what will make Trump a great president is not his core ideological principles, not the laws and structures he will put into place, but because he is a different "type of man" than others. It is the definition of the royalist worldview. Regardless of what Trump might accomplish as president (and I will vote for him in the general vs. Hillary, if those are my choices), the reason you posit for supporting him is UnAmerican (and I don't use that term lightly). The FF would reject it out of hand, and they actually did have greater men than those around them!
P.S. what are Donald Trump’s faults? Where does he fall short, in your estimation? Or is he a “perfect” man?
I’ll grant you that Cruz has voted several times in ways I did not like (TPA and H1-Bs). So that is 2 strikes against him.
Now, how many strikes does Trump have? When he denigrated the TEA party? When he supported the assault weapons ban? When he supports ethanol subsidies? When he supported gay marriage? When he supported Planned Parenthood? When he criticized the deportation of illegals as “too harsh” (his own words)?
Why do Cruz’s past strikes count and Trump’s not?
