Thank you, Mr. Trump — keep attacking the Clintons
The Hill ^ | January 01, 2016 | Lanny J. Davis

So I can just imagine Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump's inner voice giving him advice in his usual fact-free zone - the same voice that told him he "watched in Jersey City, New Jersey, where thousands and thousands of people were cheering as that building was coming down" - though we now know there was no such scene. None.

“His poll numbers have sunk in Iowa, he has no ground game in Iowa ...”

I am impressed with Cruz in Iowa. He’s against Big Ethanol, which is supposed to be a killer in that state. Also, Trump had a really great system worked out in Iowa as well ...

[Quoting ‘vision thing’]

[Trump’s Ground Game in Iowa ... you were referring to Trump, right?]

His campaign uses eventbrite to hand out tickets to his immense rallies. Through it, he automatically gains an electronic mailing list to people who went out of their way to attend his rallies. Imagine not just the value but the sheer volume of this growing list. No other campaign has this, not even the RNC itself.

Then at the rallies themselves, they have further recruitment and gotv efforts, especially in Iowa, where they instruct all that new fresh blood into navigating the caucuses.

No polling outfit seems to know how to measure all these things to gauge Trump’s ground game. But his ground game exists, and it’s growing.

Thank you Trump—you have changed the debate and altered the Republic forever. Don’t back down! Keep Hillary OUT of the White House! You have ripped off the mask from the Progressive/Socialists who thought they could transform America for 100 years. Just as only Nixon could go to China, so it is that only a Trump could pull off the mask and expose corruption in government. Nothing will ever be the same! Jeb Bush is finished, and Hillary will be next. The USA owes you for this.

You want Trump to be a conservative, you convince yourself that he talks tough and will govern that way despite mounds of evidence that his views have been erratic bouncing between the left and the right for decades.

I could care less if he's "your kind of conservative".

I want him to destroy the Uniparty and its vicious Media attack arm.

And he's doing a good job.

I remember some blithering idiot of a lawyer who Clinton convinced that his alone time with Monica was an effort to 'minister' to her.

It wasn't a lawyer, it was HilLiary Clinton's creature, Sid "The Squid" Blumenthal.

The Squid lied to the grand jury about HilLiary & Big Bill explaining to Blumenthal that Bill was "ministering".

HilLiary already had Norma Asnes on the trail of Linda Tripp, and so knew all about Lewinsky being a receptacle for Big Bill's "urges".

Sid "The Squid" Blumenthal was trying to persaude "friendly" journalists at this time to smear Lewinsky with the "nuts & sluts" gambit. Kit Hitchens, one of the few honest Lefties, blew the whistle on The Squid.

Trump loves Trump, look at his stances over the years he’s going from liberal to conservative to liberal to conservative again. Trump jumps on the political bandwagon that is the flavor of the week because it benefits Trump. When he it was cool to support the Clintons in the 90s he did it, when it was in style to bash Bush in the 00s he did it and now that it is in style to be against Obama and tap in the anger of the electorate he’s doing that as well. Trump is for Trump and his views reflect that, I would have respect for the guy if he wasn’t changing his politics every decade.

Let's not forget that Trump said he's for letting the good illegals back in while Cruz is not on record for legalizing good illegals like Trump. Cruz is not advocating amnesty, and he never stated he wants to let some illegals back in like Donald. If we enforce the laws on the book, which Cruz wants to do there may be a conversation on the ones who are remaining here, but it does not mean that amnesty would be the end result.

If Trump follows through with his plan, has Mexico build his wall (which I highly doubt he's going to be able to get Medico to pay for), and starts deporting illegals when does he reach out to bring the illegals back in? Trump is the one who is on record for some sort of amnesty because if we let the good illegals back on, what's the end result? Could it be legalization of the good illegals who crossed our borders and broke our laws to get in this country?

I agree with most of what you said.

If his opinions and politics were a game of Musical Chairs, which it may be, I’m hoping and praying that when the music stops in November, he’ll stick with what he’s got going on now. There are no guarantees.

There are no guarantees with Cruz, either, as he’s already proven that he’ll go with the political flow when it’s expedient. He, too, has vacillated when his decisions and votes have impacted America not for the better.

Of the two, Trump is stronger. Of the two, Cruz is too politically correct to get in Hillary’s face and tell the truth about her. Being too nice will not win the White House for us against the pure evil known as Democrats.

If the election were to be a fair fight, I’d be on the Cruz bandwagon in a skinny minute. The past decade has shown that elections are fraught with cheating by the left, so it won’t be a fair fight. Even with in-your-face, proven cheating the GOP hasn’t contested it. Trump hates to lose; he will fight back when necessary. He could be the Equalizer.

Yup, he has big rallies, big crowds but when his campaign manager crows that they’ll have 1,600 volunteers to be precinct captains in Iowa Thanksgiving and only 87 show up and 50 register online the day of the event it’s my observation that Trump has a ground game problem. He isn’t working the Iowa counties, instead opting to have his stadium events which is all fine and good, but if those stadiums don’t know how to Cacuss or don’t have a way to get to the polls, then Trump is showing that the only thing he’s good at when it comes to campaigning is getting the cameras to focus on him before the campaign gets serious.

Trump is not a conservative and who’s part of the uniparty? If anyone’s part of the uniparty it’s Donald J. Trump he supports the left and he supports the right whoever comes in power or whatever party has the political wind at their back is who Donald sucks up to. Support the Clinton, Pelosi, Reid, Schummer loving corporatist if that’s opposing the uniparty then I want no part of it.

You're hopeless. Study up on the Uniparty, then get back to me.

I want Trump to destroy the Media. He's taking care of that. :)

santorum and huckabee are living proof that Iowa really doesn't matter. Santorum and Huckabee didn't have cold hard cash in the bank and a ground game organization in the early primary states that is the best in the business. Cruz has that in spades, the problem with Trump is that he has no ground game just like like Huck and Santorum, he also doesn't have campaign cash to spend unless he reaches into his personal fortune. And good luck on Trumpster doing that, sure he poneyed up a little for an Iowa ad buy, but he's going to need more if he wants this campaign to be a long term success. Even if he did spend serious money he has to start a ground game and a get out the vote effort, and he better start on that soon because New Hampshire is coming and he's going to need those bodies to vote him in, but if they aren't there he's going nowhere.

Nice little dig at Christians there, just like the petty insults your boy Trump throws around. Watch Cruz win in Iowa, SC and the SEC with those Christians you ridicule today.

Cruz was suckered by McConnell and he did not come out and support Thad Cochran in Mississippi which had the same effect as supporting McConnell in that fight.

Trump has some of the best ground game managers in politics, and has had them since before he announced.

not too long ago Trump loved the Clintons, donated to them and considered them good friends of his.

Well, either that or they weren't, and he was simply buying influence...just like he said.

...only recently that Trump has come out against the Clintons because he loves power and wants to be President.

Well, either that, or he hates the Clintons, knows exactly what they are, hates the uniparty and their destruction of the US.
