So I can just imagine Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump's inner voice giving him advice in his usual fact-free zone - the same voice that told him he "watched in Jersey City, New Jersey, where thousands and thousands of people were cheering as that building was coming down" - though we now know there was no such scene. None.

[Maybe Lanny Davis should try skywriting somewhere against Trump? Or does he see thousands and thousands laughing at his jokes?]
“... Trump’s inner voice giving him advice in his usual fact-free zone ...”
[Gee, Lanny, you mean that the Islamo-philic Establishment is NOT a ‘fact-free zone’? They are so much more right about things than Trump? The open borders crowd is also right and Trump is wrong? Hillary is actually honest? I-ya, wonder — did you celebrate New Years before writing this?]
I studied Trump’s positions — he is conservative. And Rush had watched Trump’s political views evolve over the years. This campaign came as no surprise to Rush.
I remember some blithering idiot of a lawyer who Clinton convinced that his alone time with Monica was an effort to ‘minister’ to her.
Google isn’t being very helpful.
Is my fuzzy memory correct that the nitwit was Lanny Davis?
Cruz is a flipper flopper zig zagger on illegal immigration.
Fanny Davis is a worthless homo. Pay her no mind till she’s back on her meds ...
erod....... at some point the GOP will have either Cruz or Trump as their nominee to run
against Hillary. My contention is that it will take the supporters of both to defeat her
thus I’d try to be less negative and let the voters make their choice. But to denigrate their
choice and then expect them to be loyal to another opponent may not be the wisest way to a win in Nov.

Lanny Davis used to appear on G. Gordon Liddy’s radio show. They met socially and Davis convinced Liddy he was a friend. Every time Davis would eat Liddy’s lunch. It was pahetic. Liddy had such an ego he didn’t even realize what a chump he was. Davis ruined that show. Davis is an expert.
How horrible sounds like a campaign to me. Believe me honey, if I a lowly political junkie can remember this stuff and find it fairly easily online you better know that Trump's opponents are going to use the same points I mentioned and will use his liberalism against him. We hold primaries so we can select the strongest candidate, and people have dug into all the candidate's past history and used attacks against them based on their voting records and deeds.
Just keep it up and watch Trump's poll numbers rise.
Too bad their isn't a national primary before Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina, if that was the case Trump would win right now. His poll numbers have sunk in Iowa, he has no ground game in Iowa, New Hampshire or South Carolina and he is facing an thumping in February. After losing in 2012 and losing to a weak candidate in Obama because we sent a liberal flip flopping to represent us, I personally don't want to repeat the same mistake again..
No he’s not, according to Jeff Sessions he is the sole reason why we don’t have the amnesty bill today. Cruz has not nor has he ever supported illegal immigration.
How Can Lanny Davis Look at Himself in the Mirror?

[A scathing critique of him and Hillary’s email scandal ...]
... But when it comes to the Clintons, it has become painfully evident that Mr. Davis will, at a momentâs notice, rush into battle to defend not just the indefensible, but also the inconceivable. Furthermore, he doesnât seem to care how silly it makes him look...

With all due respect I agree with you most of us on Free Republic are conservatives. One of my idols Rush Limbaugh is a Trump/Cruz supporter as well. I mean no harm and don’t want to drag Trump supporters through the streets and resort to personal attacks. Conversations here may get heated and they will during a presidential primary. Picture these debates this way, our camps are like two boxers I may like you, and I do like you deport, just like the fictional Rocky Balboa liked Apollo Creed, but I’m going to come at you with everything I got and I’m not going to apologize for it, nor will I resort to insults or personal attacks while making my arguments against Trump. In the end, you’re right we have to come together and if I have to I will support Trump over Clinton because Clinton is worse, but in the meantime I will be engaging in some heavy debating on Trump and his record. FReegards and may the best candidate win.
That’s right, Liddy tried to court Davis the way Cal Thomas did the popular EMK of MA.
Here is Cruz again in November being weak on illegal immigration and zags back again in the December debate when confronted.
Ted Cruz on immigration: "I oppose legalization...Today, tomorrow, forever."
"A leftover from this weekend that I want to note for archival purposes, in case he wins the nomination and then starts claiming next summer he never said he was absolutely opposed to legalizing illegals in all circumstances. This sounds pretty absolute, no?
Isn't this the same Ted Cruz who said a month ago [November] that we'll have a "conversation" about legalizing people once the border is secured? "

"Cruz said. But Cruz acknowledged that his own plan only calls for a national "conversation" about those remaining in the country illegally, and is short of specifics."

Cruz can't comes to grips and tell us that he wants some form of legalization.
They will use whatever they got against whoever runs. If necessary they will make stuff up. I am not too concerned about Trump in the general. I think Cruz could do well in the general as well by bringing out conservatives who have not voted in decades. But in general I am pessimistic about the election and the direction of the country. I think Trump will be entertaining and adequate as a candidate in the general and Cruz would be ok too but a bit more of a long shot.
Cruz is a flipper flopper zig zagger on illegal immigration.
.............................................................
and his voting record proves it!
I personally don’t want to repeat the same mistake again..
.........................................................
You will if you stick with Cruz.
Trump isn’t a sniveling GOPe turd. Lanny and his pervert boss have met their match in The Donald.
“Seems to me that a lot of people have been throwing dirt and trying to dig up stuff against Trump since he decided to run.”
The standard ‘flip-flop’ accusation doesn’t work so well on Trump because people sense his sincerity.
I’m pretty slow to trust myself. But I have come to trust Rush Limbaugh unless he seems financially invested in something. I don’t think he’s financially invested in Trump’s campaign — after all, Trump is losing opportunities in the Middle East and elsewhere. He’ll end up losing money for this.
Last month, Rush pointed out that he had chances to speak privately with Trump. [They evidentally go to the same golf course a lot in Florida.] And Rush watched first hand Trump’s political evolution [which I suspect Rush helped nudge a little bit].
Rush said that Trump’s campaign does not surprise him.
So Trump loves power and wants to be President. As opposed to Cruz, et al., who don't love power and don't want to be President?
More than power, I believe Trump truly loves America and helping it get back on track is his way to "give back" in thanks for his successes.
Eh, to be clear, Rush IS impressed with Trump’s success, however.
