“His poll numbers have sunk in Iowa, he has no ground game in Iowa ...”

I am impressed with Cruz in Iowa. He’s against Big Ethanol, which is supposed to be a killer in that state. Also, Trump had a really great system worked out in Iowa as well ...

[Quoting ‘vision thing’]

[Trump’s Ground Game in Iowa ... you were referring to Trump, right?]

His campaign uses eventbrite to hand out tickets to his immense rallies. Through it, he automatically gains an electronic mailing list to people who went out of their way to attend his rallies. Imagine not just the value but the sheer volume of this growing list. No other campaign has this, not even the RNC itself.

Then at the rallies themselves, they have further recruitment and gotv efforts, especially in Iowa, where they instruct all that new fresh blood into navigating the caucuses.

No polling outfit seems to know how to measure all these things to gauge Trump’s ground game. But his ground game exists, and it’s growing.

Yup, he has big rallies, big crowds but when his campaign manager crows that they’ll have 1,600 volunteers to be precinct captains in Iowa Thanksgiving and only 87 show up and 50 register online the day of the event it’s my observation that Trump has a ground game problem. He isn’t working the Iowa counties, instead opting to have his stadium events which is all fine and good, but if those stadiums don’t know how to Cacuss or don’t have a way to get to the polls, then Trump is showing that the only thing he’s good at when it comes to campaigning is getting the cameras to focus on him before the campaign gets serious.
